I’ve been singing the praises of the PIXI MatteLast liquid lipsticks for some time. They are some of my favourite liquid lipstick formulas at the moment and I love SO many of the shades. I’m fortunate enough to have been sent the quite a few so I thought I would swatch them all for your perusal and reference in case you can’t get to a counter for your own swatch n’ play.
I have 10/14 of the shades (I thought I had them all but I believe they have just added more shades – yay!) and I wear around 5 of them regularly. The shades are so good and they have a lot of nudes and naturals and then some more bold colours which are the ones I tend to opt for. My favourites have to be Pastel Petal, Peony Pink, Orange Red, Real Red & of course Berry Boost that I have been wearing so much over the last few weeks – LOVE! The formula is really good : a typical liquid lip formula, that dries down nice and quickly, the colour applies really easily with the applicator and smoothly (no streaks!). I find one swipe only is needed for a full coverage lip shade. They don’t feel claggy or uncomfortable (although hey it’s a liquid lipstick, it will have a dry feel to it), and they stay on really well. I love wearing them both as a full on matte lip colour or if you just use a few dabs of the product, and pat it out with your fingertip, they double up as a muted lip stain.
PRO TIP: If you do have dry lips, chapped lips, then definitely prep the lips with the PIXI lip exfoliator first which doubles up as a scrub and a balm and then your lips will be better-prepared! Don’t over layer it or add too much product as it will accentuate patchy/dry areas.
I think coming into summer, people in general like to lighten up their makeup in feel and texture, so if you are the same then try my tip for using these as a stain and then pop a dab of lip balm over the top to give a softer finish.
