The New Thang : NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist.

I was super excited to try out this facial mist from NIOD. The Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist (SDSM2) is as fancy as it sounds. In basic terms : this is a supercharged facial treatment that comes in spray-able form, and can enhance and improve pretty much every skin care regime. If you haven’t heard of skincare brand NIOD before (where have you been), it is one of the 9 brands that for under the infamous DECIEM brands. NIOD for me, is possibly the most advanced skincare range from them.

Who’s it for?

Anyone and any skin type can slip this into their existing daily skincare routine. This facial mist is alcohol free, silicone free, nut free, gluten free, cruelty free AND vegan. It is a treatment for protecting against oxidative stress, inflammation, hydration and improving skin quality.

What’s In it?

Key ingredients include:

Yeast-derived Superoxide Dismutuse. This prevents damaging oxidation within the body and skin cells. This is not a much utilised ingredient within skincare as it is generally hard to stabilise and use, however this form is stable and strong.

Purified North American Four O’ Clock Flower. I know what you are thinking and it’s the same as me when I first read this :  What the HELL is this?! Well it’s an aztec plant with a strange name but this flower helps significantly reduce inflammation in the skin.

Marine Exopolysaccharides.  Holds water within the skin, supposedly better and more effectively than the infamous Hyaluronic Acid. Improves skin hydration by 35% in just 2 hours. This is created from a fermentation process and is so it completely sustainable.

Malachite Rock Extract. This explains the blue colour. This is a purified copper-rich mineral that protects effectively against oxidative stressors.

How to Use:

It is to be used onto cleansed skin, both AM & PM underneath your usual skincare routine. I love the fact it comes in a really large 240ml bottle so it will see you through many months of use opposed to the weeny 100ml bottles I am used to seeing. I’ve only just started to use it so I will report back to you how I am getting on after a few more weeks!

Have you tried any NIOD skincare yet? Or perhaps something else from DECIEM brands?
