YES and YES. I was really excited when BITE Beauty announced they were coming to the UK. It’s a brand I remember reading a lot about years ago when they launched their ‘Lip Lab’ in New York. I remember everyone talking about this place and how you could go in and get your perfect shade of lipstick and even custom shades made for you.

This is why BITE beauty are famous primarily for their lip products and that’s immediately what I think of when I think of BITE. HOWEVER, they do a full, extensive makeup line with SO many other incredible products that should not be overlooked. I’m new to dip my toe in but I am hugely impressed by what I have tried. The quality is brilliant, it’s a little different and interesting and I want to tell you more about it.

Now, I know we don’t love the term ‘ clean’ and it can be quite mis-leading in the beauty industry but I’m dropping it in right here. BITE beauty was created to satisfy the needs of those who wanted ‘clean’ makeup and beauty but with high performance. There I said it. It’s vegan , cruelty-free and gluten-free. They wanted a vivid, inclusive brand that gave a sensory experience and enjoyment in use….with the highest quality.

SUPERCHARGED PERFORMANCE

Vivid color. Instant impact. Sensorial textures. Wear that won’t let up whatever your day throws at you.

POWERED BY SUPERFOODS

Pure. Efficacious. Superfoods for your skin. Ingredients that are rich in the stuff your skin craves : antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and more.

MADE FOR SUPER YOU

Speed. Ease. Looking good while getting things done.

I was sent a handful of products to try out and I did a fun try-on last week over on IGTV (check it here) and a bit of a wear test. I was SUPER impressed with everything I tried and for first impressions I was 100% sold on the brand. The quality, the feel, the textures and the wear of all the makeup was brilliant.

So a couple of weeks on : How am I finding BITE beauty?

I have worn all the products numerous times now and I’m still legit in love. I’m a fan. I think it’s incredible. I want to try more. I’m in. 10/10 would recommend! It’s much more that a lip colour brand. I enjoy using it all : the textures are playful and fun to use, they feel good on the skin and in application and there’s definitely an ‘ooooo’ factor in this makeup. It’s not boring. It’s playful. It’s easy. It does the damn job. I’m going to give a quick overview of all the products that I have tried and am loving.

Power Move Soft Matte Lipstick : The cult product!

Firstly : THE LIP COLOUR!! I have the Power Move Soft Matte Lipstick in Hot Tomato and it’s absolutely one of my top 5 reds of all time. The colour is absolutely stunning, it’s a perfect slight blue-red and this kind of tone looks banging on everyone. Also :  the texture and wear of these lipstick formulas…like nothing I’ve used. They are SO very feather lightweight : you can barely feel it on the lips but the payoff is POW and they stay on well.

It is a vegan, hydrating soft matte lipstick, powered by nourishing cocoa butter, for bold lasting lightweight colour. It honestly has the most insane formula ; like nothing I have tried with such a bold lipstick! It has a velvet-matte finish and is feather and fade-resistant formula – which comes in 20 shades.

I have a couple more shades to try which I’m looking forward to, I have some more nudey tones but as soon as I opened the box I was instantly drawn to the bright red. Here is the BITE beauty Power Move Soft Matte Lipstick in Hot Tomato on my lips:

The base products I have tried are the Matchmaker Changemaker Skin-Optimizing Primer Normal To Oily and the Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation.

Matchmaker Changemaker Skin-Optimizing Primer:

This comes in two formulas depending on your skin : normal to oily and normal to dry. I have the normal-oily formula which is perfect for my combination, open-pored skin! These whipped textures will neutralise your skin type to ensure staying power and longevity to your makeup.

I absolutely love this primer, and I’ve said it before : I’m not a *huge* fan of primers but this is an instant win for me. It reminds me a bit of the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. It has a silky feel and doesn’t feel stiff or silicone-y like a load of these oily skin primers can. It’s weightless on the skin and it gently mattifies the skin and blurs the looks of imperfections.

It contains a Hyaluronic Acid Complex for enhanced hydration, Willowbark to help mattify and control shine, Maqui Berry which is antioxidant-rich and helps nourish your complexion. I have tried it with a few different foundations and it marries well with the ones I have tried (IT CC cream, Trinny BFF, IT foundation, Max Factor Infinity, GUCCI foundation & Rimmel Stay Perfection).

Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation:

This is a ‘clean’ (soz) long wearing foundation, fuelled by nourishing, antioxidant-rich maqui berry, for a lightweight, natural finish that feels good on skin. It really does feel lovely on too : second-skin-like and nourishing. The texture is lovely and like the aforementioned primer…it’s almost silky in feel. It is lightweight, it has a medium coverage and it feels like a proper skincare-makeup hybrid base.

The BITE Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation comes in 32 shades.

Bite Beauty Daycation Whipped Blush:

Infused with papaya extract, this creamy whipped blush gives you a healthy and natural-looking finish that’s non-cakey and lasts all day. The lightweight, fade-resistant formula enhances cheeks with a buildable flush of colour that feels refreshing on skin. Plus, it can also be worn on your eyelids. It has a bit of lift and glow to it too – they aren’t flat/matte blushers.

I have shade ‘Watermelon Marg’ which I absolutely love. I don’t quite have anything like it I don’t think. It’s a soft almost lilac pink that gives a really nice flushed-just-been-for-a-run-on-an-October-crisp-morning kinda vibe. The texture is definitely whipped mousse-like and feels smoothing when applied. I have been dabbing it on with my fingertips and blending it out with a brush but either or / whichever way works for you.

Bite Beauty Upswing Full Volume Mascara:

They just do the one mascara at the moment and it’s a bit of a does-everything-all-rounder-one. It has quite a nice big wand which is an hourglass shape and seems to coat and grab the lashes well. It is volumising, flake-resistant, that also delivers lift, length and curl. I have worn these a few times for full days through rain and sweat and it has not budged!

It contains tree berry wax (the alternative to beeswax found in many mascaras) which gives it that grip and good coating. It feel nice and lightweight on the lashes and can be layered up for more volume.

Bite Beauty Upswing Extreme Longwear Liquid Eyeliner:

This is an ultra-pigmented liquid eyeliner infused with passionflower extract, that glides on smoothly, for precise and easy application. This is what I think is a more ‘old-school’ liquid liner, which is the pull apart with the brush as opposed to a pen-like one. I know so many people who LOVE these dip-style liners so if you are always on the hunt for this style, then definitely try this out. I have been used to the pen-style for so long but actually the benefits of this are making me like this one a lot more. There’s not tugging, patchy liner or ink running out as you line! You can simply dip this back in to ensure you get a really solid, jet back ink payoff. I could be a convert.

This definitely doesn’t budge on me : it’s 100% a long wear, smudge proof formula. I get quite oily on my lids and in my old age I have hooded lids so I do often get transfer from liquid eyeliners, but not this one!

Where can you buy BITE Beauty in the UK?

At the moment, you can buy BITE beauty from Boots and Feel Unique. I believe it’s just online for Boots and not on-counters but I may be wrong. It could be in one of the fancier, bigger flagship Boots stores…which I definitely DO not have in these dusty ends of Dorset.

Prices are high-end with lipsticks at £25, foundations £38 and mascaras £26. It all very much feels like it should be that price though. It’s bang on. Brands I would compare it to would be Laura Mercier….but more modern, with a bit of Hourglass thrown in.

Just look @ that red! I can’t get over it. Also, I think you’ll agree :  the packaging is really lovely too! It’s hard to explain but it’s just all nice to use. The textures feel brilliant, they hit a little different, it’s a brand that garnered my interest and has kept my interest which to be honest, isn’t that common nowadays. I think you can tell I am a fan.

Definitely drop me any questions here or over on my INSTAGRAM if you have any. I will definitely be featuring, reviewing and trying on lots more of the the BITE beauty over on there and here.

In the meantime you can shop the products right below!
