Trilogy Skincare combination range review

I wanted to quickly chat about and the newest line from Trilogy Skincare : the combination range. This is a targeted range for us oily/combination crew and it’s not only effective at balancing and treating the skin, but it’s also gentle.

Trilogy are well known for *that* incredible Rosehip Face Oil (have you tried it?! You should probably try it!) but once you dig a little deeper there is so much more that this beaut New Zealand skincare brand has to offer. Their formulas are brilliant and the products are natural and organic and suitable for all.

The Trilogy Combination Range is targeted towards those of us with a more oily, combination and breakout skin. It contains a cleanser, toner, face oil and face cream all designed to balance, decongest and soothe the skin. I find this kind of range really brilliant in the warmer simmer months when skin can produce more oil and you want to reach for those lighter skincare products. I also love a gel/lotion moisturiser in the day, particularly when I am constantly layering on the SPF50.

About Trilogy Skincare :

‘When New Zealand sisters Sarah Gibbs and Catherine de Groot discovered the powerful benefits of rosehip oil for skin, back in 2002, they created Trilogy and took natural skincare into the future. Originally a range of five rosehip skincare products, we now craft over 40 incredibly effective natural alternatives to synthetic skincare, body care and hair care, and sell them in over 20 countries around the world.’

They are now over 10 years old and have developed into a skincare brand that targets all skin concerns. They are driven by nature’s ingredients and create formulations that are concentrated, effective and unique for all. Trilogy isn’t a complicated brand. It’s refined and easy.

Purifying Range Overview :

4 key products have launched in the Purifying Range. You can of course, pinch products from the other ranges to complete your regime but this is the basis for a simple skincare day-to-day routine.

Trilogy Clarifying Cleansing Gel:

This is is non-drying rebalancing wash that cleans, clarifies and invigorates combination skin types.

Certified natural and vegan friendly, this silky soap-free wash cleanses without a tight and dry after-feel and has a with a refreshing clean mint and melon fragrance. Formulated with mildly astringent witch hazel to tone and refresh, salicylic acid from willow bark to lightly exfoliate dull and rough looking skin, and omega-rich rosehip, jojoba and grape seed oils to nourish and soften.

This is great for all skin types but particularly for combination. Also, if you prefer a gel cleanser :  this is great in the shower in the morning or as a second cleanse in the PM. I love this and how it makes my skin feel :  I use it just in the AM and it just starts my day off well  ; leaving me feeling clean, refreshed but not tight or squeaky on the skin (you know the feeling!!).

Trilogy Purifying Cleansing Toner:

This is a non-drying second-step cleansing toner that helps clarify, reduce shine and removes impurities. Perfect for sweeping across the face after your AM cleanse.

It is a gentle astringent toner helps removes excess oils without stripping the skin and has a refreshing mint and melon fragrance. Formulated with Australian lemon myrtle to help reduce excess sebum and shine, witch hazel to tone and refresh, and salicylic acid from willow bark to lightly exfoliate dull and rough-looking skin. If you like the use acids, then this won’t replace but you can still incorporate acids into your routine. I would use this in the AM and acids in the PM.

Trilogy Mattifying Moisturising Lotion:

This is a light hydration lotion that helps reduce shine and balances combination skin types. Perfect for this time of year under your SPF as it’s just so light and fresh on the skin.

Certified natural and vegan-friendly, this lotion balances both water and oil to mattify the skin and has a refreshing mint and melon fragrance. Formulated with omega-rich rosehip, jojoba, and grape seed oils to soften and hydrate, lemon myrtle to help reduce shine, and salicylic acid to mildly exfoliate dull and rough-looking skin for a clearer complexion.

This can be used both AM and PM or as you need something a little lighter on your skin. It’s also a BRILL makeup prep / primer as it leaves your skin demi-matte. I know a lot of men will love this formula!

Trilogy Hemphip™ Balancing Oil:

This is a certified organic lightweight replenishing facial beauty oil designed to nourish and balance combination skin types. This is probably my favourite product of the range!

Hemphip™ is formulated with hemp seed oil to balance, omega-rich rosehip, jojoba and grape seed oils to nourish, lemon myrtle to help reduce shine and salicylic acid to mildly exfoliate dull and rough looking skin for a clearer complexion. It absorbs really quickly and leaves no residue. PERFECT for those who are ‘scared’ of a face oil due to be oily-combination (NB : Oils are FAB for ALL skin types!) as you get all the benefits of an oil, but not the feeling.

This can be used in place of a serum, so under your moisturiser AM/PM or just when you need a boost. Rosehip is an absolutely incredible ingredient for breakouts and this really treats the skin.
