2017 Best of Beauty : The Skincare

Did you catch yesterday’s post? It was the first of a series of FOUR posts concentrating and celebrating all things beauty from 2017. Of course you did! Well this is a follow on from that and post no.2 is all about THE SKINCARE. What’s been sat beautifully on my bathroom shelves of late and blowing me away…

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser. An old favourite but have been using it a lot lately, and it’s still doing the job. One of *the* best cleansers for oily-breakout skin as it contains a bit of french clay to clarify and detox and also Vitamin C to brighten. LOVE.

Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser. This has been on my wish list ever since I saw Caroline Hirons talking about it on her blog way back when. It’s just…..pricey. Very pricey for a cleansing oil. So much so, I have managed to start thinking of how much each pump and use costs and I’ve worked it out to be around £1.13 per cleanse. THASSALOT. However, I am enjoying every moment of it and it cleanses my skin beautifully, removes all makeup, grime & residue and leaves my skin feeling so soft. Will I buy it again….probably not right away, but perhaps once in a while for a real treat.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask. I have been yabbering on about this for years along with the Divine Face Oil which are 2 trusty, all time firm favourites and rarely do I run out of either. The mask is a great anti-bacterial, cleansing, multi-mask that seems to do wonders for my breakout skin and the face oil (packed full of Avocado & Rosehip oils) helps to both balance and brighten my skin.

Neal’s Yard wild Rose Beauty Balm. Simply one of the best and most beautiful-smelling multi-use balms out there. It literally can be used for anything. Neal’s Yard is a brand I’ve kind of re-discovered and fell back in love with this year.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream. Need hydration but don’t like an oily feel on the skin? This is an absolute winner. I have combo oily skin but it’s often dehydrated, and once I have layered up my lotions, serums, the last thing I need is a heavy cream ; the Hydrating Cloud cream is a super lightweight-can’t-really-feel-it-on cream yet is really penetrates and energises the skin, at the same time giving the skin.

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Serum. I struggle with eye creams and can be a little sensitive too so I tend to opt for lighter weight serums like this one. It feels instantly cooling and soothing and works well under my makeup. Contains the signature Naturevive PB18+ complex which is anti-ageing, anti-inflammatory and anti-fatigue.

Gatineau Aquamemory High Hydration Mask. For when your skin is feeling those winter vibes, and is parched, itchy, dehydrated, flaky and just generally feeling sorry for itself. This is a great hydration mask and often use this post-acid / exfoliating mask to counteract the burn (not proper burn calm down Leslie) and to re-hydrate and plump your skin.

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist. I think this is my 3rd bottle of this glorious nectar now. I love it and it’s for you, if you love your skincare, tonics, toners and layering up your products. This contains Hungarian Thermal Water (packed full of minerals) and Neroli, Rose & Sage waters so it not only enlivens the skin instantly, but will also hydrates, tones and brightens.

NIOD Multi-MolecularHyaluronic Complex. NIOD is probably my favourite DECIEM brand as their skincare seems to be to-the-point, fuss-free and does-what-it-says-on-the-tin. This is a super-hyaluronic serum contains 15 different compounds of hyaluronic, it’s super active and you will see results pretty much within a week of using this.

PIXI Glow Tonic To-Go pads. Love the PIXI glow tonic, and I am finding these pre-soaked pads super convenient and quick to use. They are exactly the same formula as the original glow tonic (5% Glycolic / Aloe Vera / Ginseng) and can be quickly swiped over the skin AM / PM ow whenever you need that hit. Contains 60 pads so these usually get me through 3 months.

PIXI Peel & Polish. My go to treatment when I need a quick turnaround on my skin and to give it a super boost. It contains fruit enzymes alongside lactic acid to slough off dead skin cells to reveal brighter and glowy-looking skin. Quick-acting and east to use.
