What’s in my {Current} Makeup Bag.

With my current lifestyle, I am always taking a small makeup bag with me on-the-go. I am one for getting that extra 15 minutes in bed so more often than not, I am *that* girl on the tube swiping makeup on her face en route to a job. My makeup bag is relatively minimal as I don’t want to lug around anything I don’t need or won’t use. At the moment I am using my small Paul & Joe makeup purse which is not only the perfect size, but it has kittens all over it. Enough said.

Make Up For Ever HD Blusher in shade 225 Peachy Pink. This is such a pretty peach tone. I love a cream blusher for a daytime look, plus it’s great to touch up with and layer without getting that dreaded clumping of powder. I also press a bit of this into my lips for a muted peach pout.

Bareminerals Complexion rescue. A bit of an old favourite for me, I have worn this on and off since it launched and I’m giving my skin abit of a heavy makeup break at the moment, so this is the perfect balance of skincare, hydration and light coverage. (Plus my skin is relatively clear at the moment so I can get away with this!)

Dermalogica Hydrablur primer. This is the latest launch from Dermalogica and has squeezed it’s way into my makeup bag instantly. A bit of a strange one to carry in my makeup bag as this is essentially a primer but I also dab a little bit of it over my makeup/open pores to instantly perfect and refresh my complexion. A replacement for my powder when I have a light base on, basically.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. This was a suprise hit for me when I purchased it in a panic buy over Christmas (left my mascara @ home argggh). I am never overly impressed with budget mascaras so was expecting little things….to get big things and lashes! Probably the best *high street* mascara I have used. You haven’t tried it?……you need to.

Paul & Joe eyebrow liner. I am pretty unfaithful to my brow products at the moment, but that is the *one* at the moment. It’s very similar in formula to Kevyn Aucoin, Anastasia brow wiz etc. A nice hard lead that is also really fine-tipped so you can get small brow hairs for a natural, gorgeous brow.

DHC Liquid Eyeliner EX. This has not left my makeup bag since I first tried it. It’s just the best liquid liner there is on earth. That’s all.

INIKA Highlighting Cream. I got a little trial size of this ages ago, and again just something that I started using recently and started to like. Cream highlighters/blushers are things I usually only wear when I am wearing light makeup so this is perfect over the MUFE blusher and Bareminerals complexion rescue I am wearing currently.  Think Benefit High Beam.

Nudestix concealer. Have you tried Nudestix yet? A really cool little brand that’s in Space Nk & online at Cult Beauty over here in the UK. All in jumbo pencil formula so designed for the girl/or boy on the move. This concealer can be used eyes/face/ wherever you fancy and you can even sheer it out with a brush for a foundation too. Love the versatility & ease of this. I’m currently wearing shade Medium 4.

Diego Dalla Palma La Vie En Rose Eye palette. My current ‘au natural’ makeup look is perfectly paired with this gorgeous rosey-nude palette.  Mainly matte tones, nothing too punchy or bright and I really love the texture of these shadows. Plus, this palette, is my handbag / check face / tube makeup mirror.

Wet N’ Wild Megaslicks Balm (shade ‘See If I Carrot’). This is a sheer colour balm,  with a touch of colour and hydration. It’s not one of those ones that have only a tiny bit of colour in, this actually is quite punchy with a hit of neon orange, that also stains the lips, rather than sliding off within an hour. I’m not sure I have used anything like this? A tinted balm, that actually feels balmy…yet stains the lips. Also, only costs like £1.50 so we can ignore the RIDICULOUS carrot name.

Do you take a makeup bag with you in your handbag or do you just slap on @ home and be done? What are your current essentials?
