Perfect Summer Makeup : Sunkissed skin & Golden Eyes.

California-holiday skin game is still going strong ; so I am enjoying having tanned skin the good burst of vitamin D has cleared my skin up along with some at-home-microderm. I find my ‘summer skin’ always likes less makeup….everywhere. Keep it simple for a day-to-day look such as this, and you can do this easily in under 5 minutes I promise you ; No cut-creasing, no intricate buffing or blending or eyeliner-ing. This makeup look is pretty much done with fingers and hands, I just used 1 powder brush and one basic eyeshadow brush.

Who wants cakey makeup when your skin doesn’t need it and the hot weather isn’t kind to it?! AKA melting off your godamn face within one hour.

I kept my skin really bare with one of the most best lightest bases I have used recently which is the BareMinerals Rescue complexion. It is a really natural tinted gel-cream so for any areas that needed a bit more ‘help’, the Amazing concealer came to the resuce. This is one of the most-pigmented concealers I have ever used! Absolutely knocks out redness, blemishes and dark circles with a pin-prick amount of product. (my review)

I warmed up my skin with a sweep of the Too Faced Sun Bunny bronzer which is perfect for that summer glow and enhancing your tan, or faking it. I mixed (with a stippling brush) the Stila cream convertible colour with the Benefit High beam to add a lustrious radiance on the cheeks ; I always like to use as much cream products as possible when I want a lovely natural skin finish, powder on powder on pwder can look a little cakey and feel heavy on the skin. This base is all about being breathable and light!

I wanted to keep the eyes simple with a wash of gold eyeshadow with my firm favourite KIKO colour-sphere in ‘Golden Bronze’. These eyeshadows are baked so you can use them wet or dry and they give a lovely metallic finish. I also brushed on a teeny dusting of this over my cheekbones for added bronze glow to my skin. Eyes were enhanced with the Crownbrush chubby eye pencil in Dark Chocolate (The ONE!) and a touch of KIKO kohl eyeliner in plum (I think. I’ve used this so much I’ve worn off all the writing..). I just smudged these under the lower lash line and a touch on top.

Finish off with a sweep through of Benefit Rollerlash and a quick slick of Dior Lipglow and this simple makeup look is finished and good-to-go. The beauty of it, is that it looks ‘done’ but effortless and easy for even non-makeup-ers.
