I’m SO ready for summer right now and have been dreaming of beachy holidays, heady cocktails, balmy evenings and ice creams by the villa pool… let’s snap back to reality = May beauty favourites (+ Fails), let’s have it :
(PS if you prefer to watch there is a You Tube video of me chatting through all of these and the link is at the bottom so you can skip down)
BATH + BODY
Still LIVING for my PM baths. The Senspa Detox Muscle Soak is something I picked up in Waitrose a couple of weeks ago and it’s fab. Smells gorgeous, with notes of Rosemary & Sweet Orange and is a cheaper alternative to my other bubble baths, especially because I’m having them pretty much every evening. A couple of times a week, I have been using my Hayo’u Himalayan Pink Salt De-Stress Bath Minerals which are a Himalayan pink salt-based bath soak infused with frankincense and Lotus Flower. These smell incredible and you only need a small handful to make your whole house smell like a spa. These bath salts detox, soothe and enliven the muscles and mind and would recommend them to anyway who loves a good soak.
The Shea Moisture Superfruit 10-in-1 Hair Masque is my go-to hair treat at the moment and this is my second tub! So good for dehydrated, damaged and coloured hair (I’m all of the above) and this huge tub of goodness lasts for ages! The Antipodes Joyful Hand & Body cream is a real treat for parched skin and I love the fact it comes in this travel-friendly squeezy tube. Smells of blackcurrant and hibiscus flower and feels like velvet on the skin.
SKINCARE
First up, a product that I am using to prep EVERY ONE of my client’s skin : Instutut Esthederm City Protect Incellium Spray. I love and have the original (silver) one as does 80% of makeup artists I know, but this one is infused with for a stronger anti-pollution ‘shield’ to protect against pollutants and aggressors that will age the skin. This lightweight water-mist also is an amazing prep pre-makeup.
Dr Perricone H2 Elemental Energy De-Puffing eye gel. I love a lightweight eye cream, and this cooling & hydrating serum is perfect for this time of year ; when puffiness and tired eyes seem be at the forefront of my skincare woes. Hydrogen is an innovative ingredient addition and this serves to rapidly penetrate the skin’s surface give instant and quick results. A continuation of my love for quick skincare ; the PIXI Glow Tonic To-Go have become a firm favourite. Love the PIXI tonic?! These are handy, travel-friendly pre-soaked pads with the same ingredients and same 5% Glycolic to give you that GLOW.
Finishing up with the This Works Energy Bank Sun Flash. Kinda makeup...but more skincare. This is a tinted bronzing gel type product that is infused with vitamins, caffeine and CARAMEL (it smells delish!) that perks up tired skin and gives it a ‘shot’ of energy and glow. I love it particularly for this time of year when your existing foundation may be a little pale as you are embracing the fake tan or real sun more – just add a squirt into your base.
MAKEUP
Something quite new into my arsenal is the NARS Radiance Primer SPF35. I love the pink-tinted pearlescent hue as it instantly perks up tired skin and it doesn’t make the skin thick with silicone or give it that super-matte feel. Another makeup product great for makeup longevity is the Inglot Duraline which is a product I have used for absolutely YEARS. It’s a must buy I promise! > A clear dropper liquid that can be added into literally ANY makeup to make it more fluid and re-invigorate dried up products : gel liners, brow pommades, loose pigments and glitter.
A firm favourite that appears a lot on my blog is the DHC Liquid Eyeliner EX. simply the best liquid eyeliner in the world = LOVE!… and have cracked open a new one this month so my feline flicks have been insannnneee if I don’t say so myself.
A little bit of C O L O U R this month with a new favourite in the form of the Benefit Box o’ Blusher in ‘Hervana‘. I think this is a little underated but I love the blue-based pinky orchid flush of colour; It has a bit of glow to it but isn’t overly shimmery, and perfect when you want a quick swish of everything-in-one. On my lips, a bit of an unusual choice for this time of year but I literally cannot get ENOUGH of the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in shade ‘Amore’ which is a really deep, dark purple. What products have you been lovin’ lately? Have you used any of the above?
PSSSSSt Okkkkkk so the FAILS : They are over on my You Tube channel > please watch/subsribe if you have a moment x
