You would have been hiding under a rock if you haven’t seen this new L’Oréal Elvive 8 Second Wonder Water. It’s one of those products that has seemingly been EVERYWHERE since it launched just a couple of weeks ago.
It garnered my attention immediately as to be honest, it’s kind of rare for a completely innovative beauty product hits the market, and I can honestly say I’ve never seen or heard of another product quite like this one.
Keep a’ readin’ to see my initial thoughts and review of the L’Oréal Elvive 8 Second Wonder Water. I’m sure you have a lot of questions!
Wonder Water is a game changing new hair treatment by L’Oreal Elvive that promises to ‘transform’ your lengths in just 8 seconds! Powered by Lamellar Water Technology, this rinse-out liquid conditioner formula resurfaces hair fibres for a smoother finish with glassy shine and a silky touch.
This treatment contains unique moisturising agents and amino acids target dry, damaged areas of hair, forming thin layers called Lamella to smooth hair’s surface instantly transforming lengths for silkier, shinier and healthier-looking hair.
Wonder Water is suitable on multiple hair types from fine to curly and hair treatment is also ideal for dry or frizzy long hair. It’s able to effectively target signs of damage by smoothing the surface of your hair as it fills any gaps between fibres. You use it AS your conditioner.
Wonder Water’s silicone free, water-based formula has a weightless-feel even on hair that’s ultra-fine. It can be added into any haircare routine. It’s suitable for colour-treated hair and is free from silicones.
So I’ve used this 3 times now. It’s a treatment so I’m not using it every time I wash my hair, maybe once a week kinda-vibe. It’s a proper water texture, but with a conditioning, silky feel. It has handy markers on the back of the bottle into 20ml segments which is meant to be the rough amount for one use/ treatment (for normal length hair aka me).
The water texture actually makes it kind of hard to apply as you can’t really put it into your hands and onto the hair…..as it’s water and it’s easy to waste it! I’ve just been applying it straight from the nozzle into my hair and then just checking the amount I have used until it’s the 20ml recommended amount. It kind of foams up, but not like a shampoo…it’s silky and feels smooth and like a conditioner. The product turns white and I’m not sure if it was my imagination but it feels like it warms up a bit?! This could be the reaction of the ingredients working maybe? I’d be interested to see if anyone else has noticed this!
I run it through the ends of my hair as instructed and rinse out after 8 or so seconds. It does say that you can either use this AS your conditioner or you can follow with a conditioner if you hair needs it. I’m so dry/damaged that I’ve always followed up with my normal conditioner afterwards and it seems to work really well. You can really feel the difference and my hair feel super silky and glass-like after I’ve used it! I’ve NEVER used anything like this before and I think it’s pretty darn good! It doesn’t weigh the hair down even when followed with another conditioner.
It does say for optimum results that you should blow dry your hair for the ultimate glossy finish. Simply because of the state of my hair at the moment, I’m trying to avoid heat so I haven’t done this yet, just air dried. My hair doesn’t look glass-like or MAJORLY different….I mean, hell, there’s only so much you can do in 8 seconds my friends BUT I will say it does something, it feels softer, I like the product and I would totally recommend you to try it out for yourself to see the magic.
