I have just received my first Time of Your Life (TOYL) Beauty box which was the February edit so wanted to share my thoughts with you and give you the lowdown on this beauty box you may never have heard of.
I knew very little about this beauty box subscription so I want to share with you more information about it and how it’s a little different to the others I receive. The TOYL beauty subscription box is targeted towards mid-aged (35 years +) woman. This is all about MID LIFE beauty, savvy woman and celebrating what we need and what will work with us at this time of our lives.
These high-end boxes are aimed those who are more interested in effective and anti-ageing skincare, conscious beauty and high quality products. The products aren’t just thrown together, it is curated depending on the month, season and what our skin, hair or body may need.
The TOYL website is also a great go-to for midlife beauty with interviews with brand owners, blog reviews, how-to-use the monthly products by founder Karen, podcasts and tips on beauty, fitness and wellness.
February TOYL Box.
So let’s chat about my first experience with TOYL. It came in a normal brown box with no branding or anything but that’s because (I’ve just been told) they are waiting on their new branded boxes which are going to be rolled out in the March or April boxes. My goodies came beautifully wrapped in tissue, with a leaflet of information, explaining about the products within.
The first thing I noticed was how big all the products seemed. I’m quite used to getting smaller travel sizes with the odd full-size in beauty boxes, so this definitely felt more luxurious and special. This is a skincare-focused box. TOYL is a mixture of all beauty including skincare, makeup, haircare and body care but this is all skincare this month.
What’s Inside?
Ila Spa’s Cleansing Milk for Natural Beauty (200ml – RRP £47.00)
Freya & Bailey’s Hail! Marula Face Serum (30ml – £50.00)
Slow Ageing’s Essential Facial Essence (5ml – RRP £14.00)
Slow Ageing’s Essential Face Moisturiser (10ml – RRP £13.00)
+ a sample of the Ila Eye Serum
I really enjoyed the products in this months’ box. I was really interested to try the Ila Spa cleansing milk as this is a brand I has never tried before and likewise with the Freya & Bailey face serum. They all really appealed to my skincare-loving nature as I LOVE trying out new brands and after a quick once-over I can tell these are all great brands and ingredients. I have used some of the Slow Ageing skincare before and really enjoyed it. I hadn’t tried either of these products in the box and have been trying them this week and I really love them, particularly the face cream as it’s really rich and smells incredible…a real treat for the skin! I’m quite particular with what I use in terms of skincare and often will slide over beauty box skincare bits to Tom (whoops soz) or donate to my non-snobby skincare pals but I can tell that this box has been curated with a lot of thought, love and beauty knowledge.
I’m really excited to receive next month’s box and to see how it difference from this one. Obviously this one is very skincare heavy but I feel like it’s supposed to be as transitional skin is A THING at this time of year and we’ve all been suffering with sore, tired and stressed skin particularly after the new year slump and bouts of blizzards and snow!
The TOYL boxes cost just £35 per month and always have a value of over £100! You ONLY get full-size or luxury travel sizes in the boxes, any samples are thrown in as a freebie and not part of the value of the box.
