June Beauty Favourites + Fails.

I can’t believe another month has flown by : It’s been a busy one for me, with a bit of travel, going away and lots of crazy makeup jobs in between! I’m usually quite busy in the summer months, so am not complaining and I love doing all the fun, festival-party type makeup that everyone seems to be wanting. Yay to creativity and glitter.

Let’s get straight to it my monthly favourites. (Pssssss if you want the fails then they are in my You Tube video below from 20m …there’s only 3 this month!)

MAKEUP :

Lots of makeup this month! The newest to my stash are the PIXI Sheer cheek gels. Quick, easy and fuss-free translucent colour that applies wonderfully and stains for an all-day wear. I love the shade ‘Rosy’ and it’s going to be a summer makeup staple. The Bareminerals Bareskin Sheer Sun Serum Bronzer has been keeping me glowing and bronzed. PS HOW hot has it been here in the UK?! This is a super sheer, lightweight tinted serum that is perfect to add into your existing foundation to amp up the summer colour. For a barely-there-base the Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Serum has been my go-to ; perfect for when you are hot and bothered and don’t want the feel or look of anything heavy on your skin. Also has SPF30 so perfect for this time of year.

One of my most-used not just this month but for maybe the last 6 months is the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops. I can’t fault these at all and currently am wearing the pinky-rose tone in ‘Blossom’. These are simply the best liquid highlighter I have ever used and they are worth every penny. An old favourite creeping back this month are the Ardell Demi Wispies false lashes. I have used these on and off for maybe 10 years now and there’s no surprise that they are a makeup artist kit favourite! They are easy to apply, a great shape and the band is nice and thin so they are comfortable to wear. I have recently discovered face.co.uk which is where I like to buy them in bulk (& they do free delivery YAY!)

The very much hyped up Stila Magnificent Metals has thankfully lived up to the ridiculously HUGE HYPE and I am loving the Rose Gold Retro shade which I have pretty much been donning on a daily basis. Cream colour with shimmer that is creaseproof and so easy to apply = YES! I’ve also recently been introduced to a glitter makeup brand called Shine Shack which I am absolutely living for right now. They have so many glitters and shades to choose from and I love the fact they have different finishes and mixes in one pot so it makes for a really interesting effect. They also sell glitter sets with multiple shades / glue etc if you fancy trying out some looks or are off to a festie etc.

SKINCARE + BODY:

I had a wee bit of nostalgia when the Rimmel Sun shimmer hit my doorstep last week. I used to use this literally 20 years ago!! It has been revamped and updated since then but it is every bit as good (& more) as it used to be and I can’t believe I had forgotten about it. Apply with a mitt for easy application and you will get a wonderful, long-wear instant tanned look (I’ve demo-ed it on my You Tube video if you fancy a look). Deserves it’s cult status!

Two favourites from one of my favourite skincare brands this month, Antipodes. The Juliet Skin-Brightening Cleansing Gel is simply one of my favourite AM face washes :  it smells insanely good and it contains Manuka honey which is great for an acne-prone, oily or combination skin as it is a natural anti-bacterial ingredient. Last up, I’ve always loved the Antipodes Skin Saviour balm and they have recently launched it in a travel-friendly 30ml tube as opposed to the huge metal tin – so yay to this. A great organic multi-use balm that can be used anywhere and everywhere and even on babies.
