Home Scents | Liz Earle Eucalyptus & Rosemary Botanical Candle

As you may know, I have a hideous candle obsession. It’s just my *thing* and I pretty much burn them in my house every single day and evening. I have a drawer full of gorgeous candles to keep my addiction fed and I have some firm favourites and also I will try out new brands/scents by the month. The Liz Earle Eucalyptus & Rosemary is completely new to my collection, and in all honestly I didn’t even know they did candles until recently.

It’s a really nice fresh scent and is something that is different to all my other candles at the moment ; it’s really fresh, uplifting and light and is a lovely contrast to my usual wintery, musky candles that I seem to always opt for.

The scent of this candle is inspired by the cult Liz Earle Cleanser with notes of eucalyptus, rosemary, birch, cypress & patchouli ; perfect for making your home smell relaxing and fresh and for the summery days. They only do a handful of candles and this is the signature scent. I tend to burn this when I am working at home during the day, and save my more heady candles for the evening. The candle smells nice & aromatic and fills my room quickly, but isn’t over-powering or too heady.

This botanical candle is made from beeswax & soy wax, so is more natural than your Diptyque, Jo Malone etc. The Liz Earle candles cost £40 for 220g and have a burning time of 40 hours. I tend to burn my candles for at least 2 hours a time (or until at least the whole surface is liquid) so that you don’t get the dreaded well in the middle which wastes a lot of wax.  Price-wise this is on par with what I would usually spend on a luxury candle, as I do find they burn better and they will 90% of the time use a higher percent of essential oil/fragrance so they smell more aromatic than cheaper alternatives.

What are your favourite candles? Am I missing out on any decent budget candles?
