Travel Beauty | Holiday Must-Haves.

My recent holiday to Tuscany inspired me to do a little mini-series about travel beauty, and incorporating general holiday must-haves (this post), in-flight beauty & poolside essentials. I have self-certified myself as a bit of a packing expert, not necessarily because I go on holiday *that* much, but more-so because my *home-home* is in Jersey so for a huge part of my life I have been flying back and forwards across the channel and trying to squeeze in as much vanity as I can within the travel allowances.

This first post, is the Holiday must-haves ; general beauty bits that I cannot be without whether I am going away for a weekend staycation, flying home to Jersey for a few nights or going for a week-long sunshine break.

Skincare-wise I try to take the majority of it in sachet/sample form, that’s if I have the right amount and products to see me through the holiday. Products I use most of which tends to be cleanser, I will usually take a deluxe sample size or if I don’t have anything, I will definately take a full-size cleanser. You’d be suprised at how long 1 x sachet of face cream/serum can get you through and you never need more that 1-2 sachets of eye cream. I have a whole drawer I keep any sachets in that I get from shopping/beauty boxes and events, as at the time you think MEH, but hold on to them ; they come in super handy for travel. I sometimes rely on hotel shower gels/body lotions to space-save but this time I took my new LUSH travel shower gel which was so lovely & a perfect size for a week-long-trip.

I usually end up taking way too much makeup with me but absolute must-haves for me are the Antipodes mineral foundation, NARS Radiant creamy concealer, Dr Perricone No Foundation Foundation & the DHC liquid eyeliner. This time I also took along a mini Stila Lip Stain that I got in the May Birchbox which was super handy as can be used on both cheeks & lips and it stays put through warm weather and long days. The Nars Concealer is great as I find this as good under the eyes as it is on the face so no need for anything else. The Dr Perricone No Foundation Foundation is perfect for days out and about when you don’t want heavy coverage, but this gives you a touch of cover and the all important SPF30. The Antipodes Mineral Foundation is a little miracle worker for me on holidays as it gives the most beautiful coverage without feeling like you have anything on. This is what I will usually wear in the evenings when I want a bot more that the perricone coverage and not the hassle of a full-on-foundation. The DHC liquid eyeliner is not only THE best eyeliner in the whole entire world but it is also water-resistant which makes it perfect for warmer climates.

For haircare, again I try and rely on sachets/samples of shampoo, conditioner & masks as these can be bulky to travel with full-size. I always pick up a travel-size of the Batisse Dry Shampoo at the airport to travel with as the less I wash my hair the better because of the colour/bleach! I also find it good to take in hand luggage if you are long-hauling it as a spritz of this before you land makes you feel fresh and not so grimey and dirty.

What can’t you live without on your travels?
