Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Skin Tint Review.
This has to be one of my favourite budget foundations of the last few years : I recommend it to anyone and everyone and I really think it’s absolutely brilliant hence why I want to chat about it some more.
I am always on the hunt for that perfection foundation : something that will feel weightless on my skin, something that won’t slide off my combination-oily skin within the first hour of me stepping out of my door, something that gives me that lovely finish of not being too glowy, nor too matte and leaves my skin looking like real skin and MY skin….but a little bit better.
…The Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Skin Tint has entered the chat.
The Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Skin Tint is infused with skin-brightening vitamin C and has a serum-like, skin loving texture. It is a light-medium buildable coverage and has a natural-radiant finish. So it really will work for all skin types. It gives the most subtle glow and movement on the skin but isn’t too shiny or oily looking so works so well on my oily-combination skin. It also still feels hydrating and nourishing so will work on drier skins too.
This also has decent staying power, particularly good for hot and humid conditions and resists sweat and fading. If you want something to give you a healthy-looking skin, but don’t want to feel like you are wearing much and want it to last – this is for you! As I have oily skin, particular in the summer time and warmer months, I don’t tend to prime my skin or do too much fussy skincare underneath as I find the more layers, the more it disrupts my base. If you have a normal to dry skin then absolutely prep and prime the skin as you need to assure this still gives you that gorgeous glow and doesn’t go patchy by sucking into those dry areas. This is the case for all dry skin + foundation FYI.
I find the Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Skin Tint works well to ensure my skin isn’t looking TOO glossy or glowy, and for this reason it also doesn’t accentuate my pores and fine lines. It smooths everything nicely and hides some of my secrets.
The Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Skin Tint comes in 20 shades and it costs £13.99. It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper style applicator, which isn’t my favourite as it can get messy but it does work with the serum-like feel and formula. I tend to smear it very un-ceremoniously onto my face from the dropper and then buff it into my skin with a good foundation brush (my favourite is the Bobbi Brown one here).
Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Skin Tint: Before and After :
So here is how it looks on me. I wear shade 10 which is a perfect match for me. They do 20 shades currently and because the texture is quite serum-like a fluid, it it quite pliable and workable. I think it looks really natural and seamless which is my preference for when wearing a foundation. If you saw the ‘after’ images alone you may not even think I had anything on but had perfect skin!
I then will add concealer where needed, bronzer, blush and a bit of powder. In the images below I just have the Maybelline foundation and nothing else.
They do like to talk about the Vitamin C element in this Maybelline foundation, but in all honestly who is wearing foundation for skincare benefits?! Not me. however, it is a nice added bonus and skincare in makeup is always welcome in my book, although not a key selling-point.
I really think that this foundation will suit most skin types and everyone I have recommend it to has said how good it is to me. Also – we cannot complain at the price point! £12.99 for a foundation like this is brilliant and honsestly hands down beats some of the £40-£50 bases that I have in my overflowing stash. If you like foundations such as NARS sheer glow (RIP), L’Oreal True Match Nude plumping tinted serum and the Clarins Tinted Serum then definitely put this on your shopping list for next time you are on he market for a new flawless base.
