I love a good splurge down my local high street stores and this weekend I ventured to Boots/Superdrug to do a little shop for all the basic top-ups and a few extras that I needed. Praise the lord that I didn’t end up going to IMATS as I would have spent a hella’ lot more than this. I’m really loving Superdrug at the moment and all-in-all I really thing they are doing much better brands than Boots and they always have great offers and deals that leave me walking in for a deodorant & hairspray and have me walking out with basically all this.
First up, the most boring ; Sanex DermoRepair antiperspirant. I don’t particularly have sensitive skin but seem to just like Sanex as a brand , they always have good offers & they do great shower washes too. This deodorant is alcohol free and smells very clean ; I can’t stand the sweet, floral-smelling body sprays. For my hair I got a few things that needed replacing; my favourite Elnett hairspray, this one has argan oil for extra care, not quite sure if that will do anything but this product is just really good. I always use dry shampoo and dip in and out of brands for this…Batisse dry shampoo is always a good ‘un and I couldn’t resist this pretty floral limited edition packaging. I’m constantly on the hunt for things to conditioner my coloured and bleached hair at the moment and I picked up the Garnier Ultimate Blends ‘strength restorer’ 1-minute treatment to give it a try.
I’m nearly all out of my original Garnier Micellar water (with the pink top) so thought I would give this one a try next. It’s the newer one formulated for combination/oily skins and still for use on the face, eyes and lips so looking forward to seeing if this is as good. To cure my post-holiday dry skin I picked up the Dove Firming body care. I have been using up loads of different body creams lately and I’m really trying to use something daily and this is a good price and anything firming is good for me right now! I also am preferring the squeezey or pump bottles as opposed to tubs for body creams as it just gets too messy.
Makeup-wise I got a few bargain/cheaper bits including these Eyelure lashes for £2 in the sale, some Barry M Loudmouth lip colours which I love anyway, a Barry M Gellish polish (Damson), a Maybelline color tattoo in ‘metallic pomegranate’, the new Bronze & Sculpt contour kit from MUA and also the ‘Opalescent Amber’ Undress your skin highlighter. I have the other, paler highlighter from this brand and I absolutely love it. I also wanted to try the award-winning Whipped Cream foundation from MaxFactor as have heard some great things about it and it’s been a few months since I have tried any high street foundations.
I also popped into Oliver Bonas to look as some books and ended up picking up this lovely Pomegranate lip balm, again I’m a sucker for packaging, but they had lip balm testers and it seemed really good, although a random buy.
