Last week I was lucky enough to be invited along to the opening of the first ever Too Faced boutique in the whole world, and who would have thought that would have chosen good ol’ blighty for the location!?
Too faced have bought us so many amazing products over the years including their signature chocolate range, *that* mascara, and more recently peach-a-mania, and as a big fan of the brand, I’m welcoming this boutique with open arms. It was a rather special soirée, and we started the evening at a private preview of the new store, which is located on London’s most bustling area of Carnaby Street : fun, bright and the heart of the city’s shopping scene.
After sipping on fancy pink fizz, and eyeing up all the glamorous folk, we were whisked off to a trendy Soho townhouse on Too Faced (pink, natch) rickshaw’s to continue the party, meet Jerrod Blandino, the founder of the brand, and drink one or more too many pink cocktails. They definitely know how to host a party. I definitely had a *very* unproductive day the next day.
The store is as EXTRA as expected, with the most pretty decor, immaculate attention to detail (hello the boyfriend seat with GQ etc magazines) and it’s absolutely a beauty shopping destination for when you are in London. They not only stock all of your Too Faced favourites, but lots of exclusive and preview products also.
It’s hard to explain, but this isn’t just your normal ‘go in buy and go home’ kinda place. It’s a makeup lovers emporium, a Too Faced sparkly journey and a place where you can just hang out and and lose your seriousness for a little bit, and feel like you ‘maybe aren’t too old for that green lipstick’ after all. There is a little ‘Jerrod Station’ where they sell some of his favourite beauty picks (non Too Faced) which is currently adorned with Rodin, Le Labo & Aerin. I believe this will be a constantly changing unit, and I think this is a clever little touch.
I have visited the store since the launch to have a good nose at the products and speak to some of the team there. They are super friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, so if you fancy a makeover, an introduction to the brand, then do go on in and speak to the lovely makeup artists.
