Current Beauty Favourites.

Beauty bits that are currently adorning my dressing table and aren’t gathering dust.

Top of the list is my BLEACH London silver shampoo. This is an absolute must for anyone with bleached blonde hair to reduce the brassy tones and also a winner for lilac/purple hair tones as I find this subtly revives my colour. It has a purple hue in the shampoo which acts as the corrector, and not only does it do a great job at this but it also is a great shampoo and really nourishes my hair. I tend to massage it in to build a lather and then leave it on like  a mask so the colour grabs…then rinse and condition. I’m nearly out of this and it’s one thing I will replace immediately. I have just spied that they also do a matching conditioner to this so will also be buying this….currently I am just dolloping a bit of hair colour (purple) into my everyday conditioner to give a wash of colour. Pastel hair requires a LOT of love and maintenance!!

I have recently run out of my Garnier micellar water (that one with the pink top) which I absolutely loved but am giving a few others a go now starting off with this triple action micellar water from Dirty Works. Removes my makeup easily and contains hyaluronic acid which leaves my skin feeling nourished as opposed to stripped.  A few other skincare products which have kept giving me life are the Antipodes Rejoice light facial day cream and the Una Brennan Vitamin C+ gentle daily polish. I usually use the Antipodes Vanilla Pod day cream but have switched to the Rejoice after being recommended it for my more oily/combo skin. It’s a great summertime moisturiser as it leaves my. skin nourished with no residue and absorbs into my skin in a flash. I am simply obsessed with the Anipodes skincare products, you must try it!!The Una Brennan polish is a really gentle daily AM face wash that I have been using with my neglected Clarisonic…it’s not a harsh scrub so perfectly fine for a daily dose. Smells delicious and wakes me up in the AM. I’ve also recently discovered the Couvent Des Minimes Smile Lip Balm which is been in my handbag and on my travels over the last 2 weeks. It is in old school cute packaging and is orange blossom flavoured which is my favourite scent so a true match made in heaven…..oh and as an actual lip balm it’s really nice.

Makeup-wise I am still all over the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation (full review here) and I have been using this pretty much daily. Along with this the MUFE plexi lipgloss in ‘206’ which is a hot pink shade and these glosses are really laquer-like and stay on really well. Loving. From Too Faced I am still very attached to my Love Flush blushers and top of the pile is shade ‘baby love’ which is on appearance a really boring shade but it just works on my skintone…..and stays on well.

A newbie but a goodie is the Amazing Cosmetics anti-ageing face primer. They are only really known for *that* concealer but this makeup primer is a winner ; oil-free, doesn’t feel overly silconey/greasy and does the job well. My clients, in particular bridal have been raving about this. Another new product for me which I have been showing lots of love to is the Ciate Skinny shadow stick. It is an eyeshadow inside a pencil-type thing which when you unscrew it, has a small smudgey sponge applicator and this makes it perfect for applying under the lashline for a sultry, sexy finish.

The Laura Mercier High coverage concealer has been a a bit of a life saviour of late ; it is one of the BEST under eye concealer for when you have bad discolouration and dark circles which is me right now. I have been really busy, a little stressed and not sleeping too well so this is making me look day-ready! For a quick swipe of eye colour without any fuss or blending then say hello to the Becca eye tints. I wear shade ‘Gilt’, a coppery brown when I can’t be/can be bothered for a daytime look. These are very sheer so don’t expect high-pigment…these are a simple wash of colour blended easily with fingertips.

Last but not least is my new favourite tweezers by Tweezerman. Ok I already have like a zillion pairs of Tweezerman but THESE have my name embossed on them and I’m really vain ok. These are available from Selfridges and the personalisation is FREE when you buy a pair, so a great gift for someone who is special enough.
