This is a new foundation from BareMinerals but I was fortunate to be sent a bit before the release date so have been using it for a couple of months now. The Blemish Remedy Foundation is an absolute god-send for problematic and oilier skin. Similar to the original BareMinerals loose powder foundation, this has added benefits of Aspen Bark & Tea Tree to promote clearer, healthier skin.
Mineral foundations are something that can be beneficial to acneaic and blemish-prone skin as it is more natural than most foundations, won’t clog the pores and skin and also it doesn’t kick-start oil production like a lot of liquid foundations can do. If you have an oily skin you will know and recognise the woes of foundation slipping off within 0.5hours, it clinging to spots/blemishes and discolouring, seeping into pores and also creating a really unpleasent oil-slick on your face. We’ve all been there.
The Blemish Remedy Foundation has been formulated to be gentle, non-drying alongside providing a great coverage to give the skin a clearer and healthier appearance. It has skincare benefits also which will improve the skin’s battle against blemishes, but If you think that just by using this you will combat spots then you are living in a dreamland. Skincare is primary and key to getting on top of the battle with acne/blemishes but for sure, using a mineral foundation with oil-fighting properties will simply add another level to the armour.
I find the formula REALLY good. I’m not a huge powder foundation wearer but this is pretty much as good as it gets. It has a really creamy finish and feel and gives a flawless coverage as needed. I am shade 07 Clearly Nude currently which is quite a warm/golden tone that will keep me going for another few months. I will have to drop a couple of shades for the winter months hisssssssss. The best way to apply this is with a synthetic-type buffing brush, I think BareMinerals have a specific one to go alongside this foundation which I haven’t got but I have been using my Crownbrush C452 and they have been getting on infamously.
If you have problematic skin, don’t like the foundation feel, like a decent coverage without the cake-iness and want something quick and fuss-free to apply, then this is for you! The price is £26 and it is available now!
