Birchbox X Oliver Bonas September : Unboxing.

Sooooooo I’m a lil’ late to the game (as will be my Fenty review) with this Birchbox unboxing and review but I wanted to show it to you just *in case* you have perchance missed all the other 100’s of reviews. It’s been a mixed bag of positives and negative reviews of the September Birchbox, and when I FINALLY got round to opening it, here is what I thought.

Pretty box. As more often than not lately, Birchbox has collaborated this month and it’s with trinket and wee-thing-presents-go-to Oliver Bonas. The theme is ‘Work Hard Play Hard & Be Kind’ which I am kind of loving. To be fair, you could have any beauty products for this really so it gave me no strong indicator for what’s within..

The not-so-good.  I still like this product but I have the exact same product maybe a little over a year ago within my Birchbox which is the Arrow Boost Colour Enhancing Lip Balm. It’s lovely, and one of those balms that change colour with your pH but I do still have my one from before.

The Good. Things I am a liking : The Polaar IcyMagic Instant Eye Contour Energiser is a really generous 10ml size which I believe is nearly full-size or full-size and worth £22! < EDIT: IT IS FULL SIZE. I’ve tried this out and it’s really effective with it’s metal roller-ball applicator to enliven tired eyes first thing in the morning. I am also happy with the full-size Manna Kadar Fantasy multi-use powder which is a warm brown tone and can be applied, eyes and face. It’s not my favourite makeup brand but it’s definitely a versatile colour and handy for travel.

The Fabulous. I am particularly happy with 2 of the products in this month’s box, first up the Dr PawPaw Original Balm. Now I have used ‘the original’ pawpaw for maybe 12 years now in my kit (!) which is Dr Lucas (in the red tube….every makeup artist has this) so I have been intrigued about the Dr.PawPaw brand to see how it compares. It’s also in a decent-sized 10ml size which I am going to have in my handbag for a couple of week to try it out. Another product I have seen lots about and have wanted to try is the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I am a self-appointed cleansing balm queen and use them every single day and can’t wait to try this one out. A 15ml tub which will see me through a long weekend/week away. *Needs to book a break just to try this out now*.

I’m also liking the cute little stickers that come in the box and have actually stuck the ‘Work Hard, Play Hard & Be Kind’ on my mac to remind myself <3

This month’s Birchbox, for me is still a good’ un. Some people didn’t like the fact their is 2 lip balms within it which I get. It’s a really great saving though which cannot be denied, I’ve been a wizard and calculated to full-size RRP’s vs the ml’s and sizes and this box has a value of a whopping £53.54. For a box that costs just £10 this is fab and I think I will get good use out of most of my bits. You can find out more about the Birchbox, subscribe, enquire and shop over at their fabulous website.
