For The Dreamers…...is the theme if this month’s Birchbox UK. It’s not sleep related, as I first assumed, but more about your life dreams…which can kind of be anything I guess?! There’s no particular relation to the products inside I don’t think but the box is very pretty AND has scratch-off coating (which I only just realised as I was writing this) which reveals imagery underneath. TWO subscribers will also get a special message under this coating to reveal that they have won a dream holiday, so don’t let this box go unscratched!
What’s Inside?
Spectrum Collections Unicorn Tears Wonder Sponge (Full size)
One of my favourite picks from this month’s bundle. A gorgeous purple makeup sponge (think BeautyBlender style) that will help you achieve a flawless base with any type of foundation formula.
The Balm Cosmetics Stainiac in ‘Beauty Queen’ (1.2ml)
A gorgeous raspberry-tinted lip stain that can also be applied onto the cheeks for longwearing colour. It’s a lovely gel-texture and is water based so gives you time to blend and apply before it dries. I really love this colour and I have only just started to try products from The Balm and everything seems to be great.
Philip Kingsley Prep Polishing Balm (20ml)
A light balm-serum that can be applied to damp OR dry hair to smooth, tame and rid your hair of frizz. I love these type of stylers and use them pretty much daily so am really happy to get this one to try out as I love this brand.
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet (10ml)
A really nice hydrating cream, suitable for even the most sensitive of skins. Soothing, anti-inflammatory and it has a lovely lightweight texture so sinks in quickly. I love Caudalie and actually already have this cream as I went to the re-launch a few weeks ago, but this size is perfect for travel and I will get use out of this.
Rituals Tao Wai Wang Mild Exfoliating Body Scrub (70ml)
A lovely generous size of this, so will give you a really good chance to try it out all over the body. Smells like a spa treatment in a tube and is quite a gentle scrub but effective with key ingredient chinese bamboo particles which are really fine and non-abrasive. I have only ever used one product from Rituals before (which actually came from Birchbox!) so am looking forward to trying this out.
Vita Coco Coconut Oil Sample (5ml)
This is just a small ‘extra’ and a nice little handy dollop of coconut oil (which actually…..I already have the full-size tub of!). A good all-rounder and can be used anywhere and everywhere…although I think this may have leaked a bit in my box as everything feels a little oily?!
My Thoughts?
It’s a decent box this month. As I always say, it’s relatively hard to introduce a brand to me or products that I haven’t ever tried as I have been in the industry for so long…..yet this box has 4/6 products which are totally new to me and one brand I haven’t even heard of (Spectrum Collections) so it has done it’s job perfectly.
There are a few repeat brands which so turn up quite a lot in the boxes such as Caudalie and Philip Kingsley, but I don’t mind this too much so long as I don’t get repeat products!
The highlight for me is the makeup sponge and the lip stain as these are products I will actually go and use straight away.
Have you ever signed up to a beauty box? Which is the best one?! You can sign up to Birchbox on their website and it costs just £12.95 per month.
