It’s been a while since I’ve chatted about a new Bareminerals product and I’ve been waiting for a great new lip range to come out so I’m here today to chat to you about the brand new Bareminerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick range which has just launched here in the UK.
If you like a more balmy and hydrating formula to your lipsticks then keep-a-reading ; these are packed full of lip-loving and nourishing oils and ingredients and the colours I have tried are really pretty. These Mineralist lipsticks are all about a ‘clean’ and mineral-infused formula….with minimal ingredients. In fact they are made with just 19 ingredients which is around 40% less than a standard lippie.
Key ingredients include cold-pressed European sea buckthorn fruit oil, Mediterranean olive oil, Moroccan pomegranate extract and jojoba oil.
They have launched with a whopping 25 shades and they are priced at £20 for a 3.6g size. The packaging feel luxe and quite heavy with a matte metal gold finish. Shades include all your typical nudes, pinks, reds and browns ; nothing too unusual or ‘out there’ just some really pretty and wearable shades.
The selling point of these are all about high hydration and high pigment in one swipe. I tried all of the shades out that I was sent in the PR box and you can see them swatched below. In terms of wear, feel and application ; they do apply a full pigment colour easily with one swipe. I tend to like a few swipes to ensure a really even coverage. They feel really lovely, balmy and comfortable on the lips and you can definitely feel that ‘treatment’ aspect to them.
They have a creamy-satin finish and they do say they are ‘smudge-resistant’ and ‘transfer-resistant’ which wasn’t really the case for me. If a lipstick has oils and moisture, they aren’t going to stay on like a matte formula. I got a little bit of residue when drinking from a glass and they would smudge a little *BUT* they do wear well for this kind of formula. I will always expect a bit of movement with a hydrating lipstick formulas, they just shouldn’t really push the transfer resistant spiel IMO.
If you want these to wear longer, give them a quick blot with tissue to remove any excess sheen and shine.

So there are 25 shades in total. In the press box we got 10 but for some reason I got two of one shade so here are the swatches of the 9 shades that I got!
My favourite shades from what I have tried has to be the ‘Inspiration’, ‘Energy’ and actually I’m loving the very nudey ‘Grace’. I’m definitely keen to explore more of the shades and the one in particular Hayley Bieber is wearing in the campaign which is a really bright pink-purple kind of hue ; love the look of this!
So a nice lipstick formula for summer, if you want something nice and nourishing on the lips with a fuller-looking colour than tinted balms etc. Also worth looking into if you are ingredient conscious, want a vegan formula something good for the lips!
What do you think of these shades and the finish? Have you ever tried any Bareminerals lip products? I also am a fan of their Barepro lipsticks which I swatched the full range of here if you are interested. These are a lighter-weight / wax-like formula that have great staying power FYI.
