Father’s day is upon us a so are the bundles of gift guides coming your way. Well here’s another and it’s my take on some pretty (I think) cool and unique gifts for Father’s Day 2020. I swerved Father’s Day for a while as it’s sometimes a little hard for me at this time of the year but with Tom, my husband, now being a father it’s become slightly special again and something that I can get involved in.

Skincare-wise I always think it’s safe to say men can use any skincare and women can use any skincare. There is often ‘targeted’ brands merely for marketing reasons and it’s true still for some guys (my Tom included) he gets slightly terrified if the packaging isn’t unisex looking.

Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic moisturiser is a great lightweight yet super hydrating gel moisturiser that I know is a hit with many guys. It doesn’t leave any residue on the skin and feels really comfortable and doesn’t give that shiny look that some may not like. Speaking of shine, the Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Lip balm is a great anti-shine lip balm that I have used in my kit for many years and is a great little guy gift. Hydrates nicely, and doesn’t leave lips looking glossy. In fact, Kiehl’s are possibly one of my favourite brands when it comes to gifting guys with skincare as it’s so fuss-free and does the job.

The Gruff Stuff is another great brand, and yep, targeted towards the guys but it’s never put me off using their products! They are doing a limited edition Father’s Day gift set (£42) which has the amazing Eye Balm and Spray on moisturiser and it’s available exclusively on their website www.thegruffstuff.com. I really love the idea of this Spray on Moisturiser and I can imagine it’s super quick, easy and kinda fun to use. Even for the most grumbliest of guys who say skincare is too much off a faff ; this would work a treat!

A Diptyque candle is possibly one of the BEST gifts money can buy and I’m a big fan of the Black Baies candle as a present. It’s quite a fresh and likeable scent and the black jar looks a little different and more edgy than the classic clear and white candles. Man pad perfect!

If the man in your life likes a little evening tipple or snifter then look into some crystal tumblers to fancy it up a bit. Something a little different and something you can put to good use too! Tom has been enjoying an evening whisky for the last few months and we have these Royal Doulton crystal tumblers which are really good. They are the best quality and have that beautiful crystal sparkle and feel very sturdy and heavy.

Fragrance is also another hit for men’s gifting and I really love and I always recommend either the Acqua Di Parma fragrances or Byredo for men. Acqua di Parma are really beautiful, clean and classic scents and I haven’t smelt any of the men’s / unisex range that I don’t love. The original and best selling unisex cologne is the ‘Colonia’ which is like freshly squeezed lemons, sweet orange, lavender and rosemary (great for summer!).

If you like something a  little more unusual and have budget to splash out on something that extra special then the Byredo scents are insanely good and my favourite for men has to be the ‘Super Cedar’. This is an intoxicating blend of cedar and rose ; think log cabins, crackling fires and the fresh air. They are all unisex so you can always dip in too when it takes your fancy.

Last up, but a GREAT product loved by both men and woman is the Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus deodorant. I have used this for many years and when I worked in beauty retail this was one of the most popular products that the guy’s would come and buy BULK of! It’s simple, but a really nice little present and obviously one to get the father you are very close to / won’t take offence to receiving a deodorant as a gift!

So there we have a few of my favourite pick’s this year for Father’s day gifting! I know these are all products that Tom loves and would love and some are great for the girls too to dip into which is always a bonus.

What do you think of my picks this year? Spot anything that may be good for the father in your life?!
