These are relatively new from Bareminerals : the Barepro Longwear Lipstick. This is a new formula of vegan, mineral-based lipstick that promises a long, fade proof wear and I’m here to give you ALL the colour swatches and how they perform.
The blurb from Bareminerals says that these new-formula lipstick are a weightless gel formula, that nourish the lips, leave a soft matte finish for a super long wear. The formula is made from mineral pigments and lipids that are naturally found in the skin to ensure a beautifully clean and skin-loving formula. It promises to be a waterproof formula, lasting up to 8 hours.
Sweat proof, cocktail proof, kiss proof.
I was super lucky to be sent the entire collection from my friends over at Bareminerals so I wanted to give them a good try out over the last couple of weeks, and more importantly SWATCH the entire range for you to see.
The formula is super lightweight : I don’t think I have tried anything quite like this before. Once you are wearing them you literally feel like you have nothing on your lips at all, there is no residue or tackiness. They almost have a slight waxy feel to them (this will explain the waterproof thang), but apply quickly and well.
They give a full coverage across the lips with one swipe, they feel and look comfortable and nourishing (no patchy / dryness) and they definitely have decent staying power.
The thin bullet makes them easy to apply, control and line the lips, I would say you definitely won’t need a separate lipliner due to the coverage of these, unless you want to make your lips appear fuller and fake that lip line. If you have dry lips, then do have a quick exfoliation before applying the darker shades so they look perfect and even – this goes for any deep lip shades!
The lipsticks are a slim look bullet holding 2g of product and cost £20. Let’s compare that to some of our favourite high end lippies : MAC lipsticks are 3g (£17.50), Charlotte tilbury 3.5g (£24), Hourglass 0.9g (£31), NARS audacious 4.2g (£26). So this Bareminerals BAREPRO is sitting up in the pricier side of the high enders gram for pound.
They have launched with 20 shades, ranging from out favourite nudey’s to the brights and the bolds. There is definitely a colour for everyone amongst these with my favourites being Cherry, Hibiscus and Petal. I have swatches all 20 shades for you so you can check them out for yourself, see how they look on the lips and maybe even pick out some for yourself without trudging to your nearest counter!
The BAREPRO longwear lipsticks are a great addition to the Bareminerals lip collection, I haven’t extensively used their other lips colours except the glosses so I’m not sure how they compare to the originals, but this formula would certainly be hard to beat!
