April’s Birchbox offering is a another collaboration and this time it’s with fashion brand Boden.
I’m a little out of the loop when it comes to Boden, but I am told from good authority that it’s a forward-thinking clothing range.. a bit trendy…and seemingly very popular with 1.5 million customers worldwide and lots of fash blogger fans.
The theme of this month’s box is ‘Be Bold and Beautiful’...on your own terms. Flashes of bright patterns across the box is a nod to the key seasonal print from Boden…I absolutely LOVE! The theme is all about embracing your own style and taking risks.
Inside the box, there is the usual scatterings of beauty bits both big and small. You also get a £10 Boden gift voucher.
Now down to the products : First up is a full-size Manna Kadar High Definition Powder. I actually thought this was an eyeshadow because of the size?! Apparently this is full size and costs £27?! Whhhhhaaaaaaaat! This NEEDS to be good. There is also a full-size Nip + Fab Colour Correcting concealer. I’m not sure if there is a mixture of shades that get sent out and you just get one @ random but I got the Yellow shade which is apparently good for brightening. < It will also be really good on redness FYI.
There is a Polaar Icepure gentle scrub with artic cotton. This is a decent 25ml tube so will give receivers a good 10+ uses to see how it fairs. I have only ever heard of this brand from Birchbox and remember getting something from this brand quite a while ago! For keeping the hair in check, there is a travel-size (31.5ml) Amika Style Extending Spray. This sounds quite interesting : it’s a heat-activated formula that protects hair form UV rays, heat, pollution and frizz to keep hair looking fresh < perhaps similar to the Living Proof concept?! Am yet to try but looking forward to it.
Last up is Baija Paris Creme Moana in ‘Fleur de Tiare’ which is a pretty-looking and pretty-smelling body cream. This is possibly my favourite initial product from this month’s box as I’m a sucker for the pretty packaging and I LOVE Tiare flowers. It’s also a good 30ml tube so will give the body a good two full applications.
A bit of a mixed bag for me this month on initial sniffs and looks, but am interested to try the hair spray and that Manna Kadar HD powder < am convinced they have made a mistake with the size though as I really can’t imagine this is full size.
