April Beauty Favourites.

This post contains press samples.

I haven’t done a monthly favourites round-up for a while so I want to share with you a few stand-out bits I’m loving. It’s quite skincare heavy at the moment as it’s seasonal switch-up time and I have been lucky enough to been sent quite a few new bits over the last few months so I have been trying out LOTS of new things. Here’s some of the best bits…

Makeup

If you caught my last post which was a full makeup look using all PIXI makeup, you would already know about my love for their MatteLast liquid lip colours*. They’ve expanded their shade range since they first launched their nudies last year and they now do some really pretty shades : my most-worn and newly discovered is the ‘Pastel Petal’ (nude) and the stunning ‘Berry Boost’ (ruby red).

I have been lusting after the Jillan Dempsey makeup after seeing it on Laurzrah’s Instagram last month. I was lucky enough to be sent x2 beautiful shades of the Jill Dempsey Cheek Tints* in shades ‘Poppy’ and ‘Petal’ and it’s instant love. I have been a huge fan of the Stila Convertible Colors for 10 years + now and anything that resembles them is a winner in my eyes. These absolutely need a focus post with swatches and more blah blah blah but I’m just getting them on the radar as they really are gorgeous.

Skincare

The Erborian Transformask* is a really interesting one that caught my attention initially because it’s a hybrid skincare products : cleanser and mask kinda vibe in one, and I generally have nothing quite like it in my stash.  It’s targeted more towards the combination-oily skin crew *but* who still want a glow as we actually do exist. First up : the texture is weird….thick and it dries pretty quickly and matte onto the skin as it contains various powders. NOW the even weirder bit :  after 10 mins or whenever you choose to remove it, you add water and it emulsifies to a milky, silky texture and then it leaves a film of rose gold-esque glow on your skin…YES EXACTLY. One for those who loves their masks and think they have every single type….you don’t.

Keeping my lips soft and prepped for all those liquid lipsticks I am slathering on is is the MOR Lip Macaron lip balm*.  These come in 9 different scents/flavours and I opted for Blood Orange : not tinted, just scented, and it contains beeswax, vitamin e to keep the lips soft and nourished.

With the warmer weather coming in, lighter formulas for serums and moisturisers is a must for my oily-combo skin. I have used the Antipodes Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream* for many years and it’s time to pick it back up again and it’s back in the regime with a bang. New to me is the Meder Beauty skincare range*. This is a high end, science-focused skincare brand that is very much results driven. I took away their travel set with me when I went away on the Easter bank holiday and it was a really handy little kit and a great way to try some of the key skincare products that they do. I wish all brands did this as it’s handy also to see what products you really like and need before investing in the full-sizes. They are deluxe tester sizes (5ml) which will do you a weekend away AND the tubes are re-sealable once opened so no need to waste product as you can with sachets.

I’m also still going strong on my Lumity Jade Roller*. I first started using this a couple of months ago and I really took to it and so did my skin! I love the fact you can use it with any skincare brand / oil / serum and it’s easy to do and even I always seem to find time. I tend to do it in the PM in front of the TV and it’s actually something I enjoy rather than ‘having to do’.

I’m not getting *quite* as much sleep as I used to, although Margot is sleeping really well, there are still some nights that I am up a few times which results in disrupted sleep. When this happens I wake up looking pretty shitty and my god the bags are summit’ else. My new pal for this is the PIXI DetoxifEYE  Eye Patches* : They are super cooling, de-puffing and in all honestly, they feel very satisfying to poke and squeeze and slather on your skin in their gel, slug-like composition. I slap them on for anything from 10-20 minutes+ in the AM whilst I’m doing the boring chores and by the time I get to applying makeup, my bags are looking more chanel than saino’s and we are good to go.

Can you spot any of your favourites here? Or perhaps something that didn’t work quite as well for you? I’d love to know in the comments.
