We are most certainly creeping into *that* season. Y’know the one…festivities, small gatherings, seasonal catch-up’s and the work party. If, like me, your ‘glam makeup’ products are getting a little dusty, it’s time to maybe think about some fun, seasonal eye makeup looks that will make you feel confident, give you a bit of sparkle and glow back! It’s also a great time to maybe invest in some new eyeshadows, *that* new mascara you’ve been eyeing up and treating yourself to a little bit of joyful makeup.
Here, I have created my signature eye makeup look using everything from Boots. I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again….Boots now stock some of *the* best makeup brands around. Their portfolio has gotten huge and they do so many of the must-have brands from budget to high-end, there is something for everyone.
With brands like HUDA Beauty, Revolution, Anastasia Beverley Hills, Max Factor, Rimmel, Fenty, Kylie makeup, Boots are covering all tastes and preferences from skilled makeup artists to those who are just starting out experimenting with makeup.
When I’m glamming it up, I really love a purple & golden smokey eye so that’s exactly what I have done here and I’m going to talk you through the products step-by-step and how you can achieve this really easily. You can tailor it to you and your preference ; soften it or maybe you want it even more vivid. As a makeup artist I love to experiment and play around with shades and try out different things…however this is kind of my ‘signature go-to’ when I want to feel glam, I want to feel my best and it seems to go with most lip colours too.
If you are not that confident with colour, but want to dip your toe in, then I always recommend simply popping a bit of the shade underneath the line almost like a smokey eyeliner. This will give you a pop of colour but there is no blending or heavy application (or skills!) needed! Super easy.
KEY EYE MAKEUP PRODUCTS USED:
I was given the task to create a full eye look using all makeup available from Boots UK. This was so very easy as I do so much of my shopping there AND all the incredible brands. I wanted to use a mix of both high end and budget makeup as this is what I tend to do anyway : I love the mix of both! Here are the key eye makeup products I used.
Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion. The infamous eye primer that every makeup artists loves! This is a great way to prep the lids before wearing eyeshadows to really bring out the colours and lock them on all night.
Anastasia Beverly Hill Eyeshadow Palette Norvina. I was so thrilled to finally try this. ALL those purple hues and it has some really stunning neutrals in it as well. This is a palette I know I’ll be reaching for both day and night.
Revolution XX ChromatiXX Duo Chrome Eyeshadow Pot ‘Ignite’. This is a stunning loose pigment and this really made the purple shades POP on the eyelid. Best pressed on with a flat brush to get the best effect and finish.
Maybelline Hyper Precise Liquid eyeliner. I have used this for years and it’s one of my favourite budget liquid eyeliners! You can get such a perfect and precise feline flick.
L’Oreal Air Volume Mega Mascara. Ok there are SO many fabulous mascaras to choose from right now. I could name 10 in Boots that I really love and rate but at the moment I have really been enjoying this new-ish L’Oreal offering and it’s so very lightweight so perfect for under false lashes.
HUDA Beauty Eyelashes ‘Samantha 07’. These are my favourite style of lashes probably EVER and the first thing I actually purchased from HUDA beauty wayyyy back in 2015 when I was in America. Since then this brand has exploded and they now do insane palettes, bases and everything else in between. So pleased to see these eyelashes available in Boots!
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Concealer. Perfect for brightening up those under eyes making you look awake and fresh. This is also great in the handbag for touch-ups during the day/night.
STEP-BY-STEP:
I finished this gorgeous eye look with a fresh, glowing base and a nude lip. Did you know Boots now also stock Kylie Cosmetics?! This is the first time I have tried anything from the range and I opted for her signature ‘Kylie’ Matte Lip Kit which is a really pretty and muted shade ; perfect for when you want the eye makeup to steal the limelight.
This purple glam eye makeup look goes well with just a brighter lip as it does with a nude so experiment and try different lip shades on to see what makes you feel your best.
