This week’s Makeup Crush Monday is dedicated again to budget wunderbrand Makeup Revolution. Their £5 cream blush* (& lip) sticks are a sure dupe of the NARS multiples and are not far off in terms of quality and pigment.
Makeup Revolution do four shades of colour but with two different textures to choose from : Matte or Sheer. Sheer is just as you would expect, less pigment but with a hint of shimmer and highlight. So 8 to choose from in total. I love both the matte and sheer formulas and like wearing the matte ones dabbed onto my lips also.
The two I want to show you, and probably my favourites are the Sheer RUSH and the Sheer MALIBU. I love these because they are also verrrrrry similar to my favourite NARS multiple shades ‘Orgasm’ and ‘Palm Beach’. The Malibu is quite a dark bronzey tone with shimmer that I use to lightly shape and contour and then I pop a touch of sheer RUSH on the apples of my cheeks. This is a very soft peachy pink tone which has a gold highlight finish. (exactly like Orgasm!)
You can have the colour quite bold with the sheer formulas but you can blend it down so it is super subtle, it’s your call. Below are some snaps of me wearing both these shades so you can see how they look on. I have used the Malibu as a contour. I find they wear as well as any cream blusher and they are nice and easy to apply and blend, I literally dab they straight on from the bullet and blend with my fingertips.
