5 Must-Have Liquid Lipsticks for Every Budget.

The liquid lipstick market has been absolutely booming over the last couple of years with brands bringing them out left, right & centre. I think the appeal of a liquid lippie is the ease of application (no lipliner required), the deep and pure pigment of them and of course, the longwear. Thankfully the formulas have been improving & you can say goodbye to those crusty, matte finishes & dry lips as the next generation of longwear come through, giving you a perfect pout all day long. Here are a few of my personal favourites brands & 5 shades you need in your arsenal.

Hourglass Opague Rouge ‘Riviera’

A gorgeous formula and one of the original gangsta’s in terms of liquid lipstick. This is the priciest of the bunch but they are so good. The colours are really bright & bold & I think I have all but 2 of them. I have used these in my kit for over 6 years & these need a shoutout simply because they paved the way for so many more.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream ‘Transylvvania’

This cult makeup brand has just launched into Selfridges (& some Boots?!) in the UK and it’s booming. They have 2 formulas of matte/liquid lipstains and I can’t decide weather I prefer these lip creams or the Liquid Suede ones which I also have. Either way this shade, Translyvvania is a favourite for rock star lips. The liquid suede ones from NYX are more heavily pigmented/opaque but for some reason I love this colour.

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick ‘Peony’

Probably the shade I wear the most and hey I even wore this on my wedding day (see my full makeup look/breakdown here) so that speaks volumes about how much love I hold for this. A lovely nude muted pink, and this comes in a slanted applicator so quick and easy to apply.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color ‘Passion’

The newest addition to my liquid lipstick family and probably one of the best formulas out there at the moment. It really feels comfortable and non-drying on the lips and it lasts and wears beautifully. Believe the hype (I normally don’t) but these are really good. I promise.

Makeup Atelier Paris ‘Camelia’

Neon Barbie pink perfection! This one is for the hardcore longwear lip lovers as you literally have to remove this with a cleansing oil, it pretty much stays on for like a week I swear. Because of their durability and wear, they do go very matte and can be slightly dry if don’t hydrate your lips before. Not for the makeup newbies.
