Winter Hair Repair with Moroccanoil.

It’s an ongoing battle with my hair : it’s fine, it’s frizzy, it’s damaged, it’s bleached and I have to pay A LOT of attention to it to ensure it doesn’t end up damaged beyond any kind of help.

I have tried so many different ranges over the years, especially since I decided to bleach my hair so I could rock those delicate pastel colours on my hair and Morrocanoil has worked absolute wonders for me over the last few months.

Moroccanoil was quite the rage when it launched, people when frickin’ NUTS for the stuff as it was one of the first big brands that used the wonder-ingredient Argan Oil as a focus point for their haircare. Argan oil has been used for centuries on the face, body and hair as it has healing, hydrating, nourishing and antioxidant properties. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids and when applied in the hair, it has multiple benefits. The Argan oil that Moroccanoil use in their products is of the highest quality, from trees grown in Morocco and it is manufactured by a cold-press process.

I am currently using the Moisture Repair Range which is targeted towards those of us who aren’t blessed with that perfect, glossy, thick hair. This is for the over-heat-stylers, the damaged, the bleached and everything else in between. The shampoo is gentle on my hair and it doesn’t leave it feeling stripped or squeaky ; it just gently cleanses. It has no sulphates or parabens, and I have really found opting for a sulphate-free shampoo benefits my hair when it’s particularly under the weather. I don’t like the shampoo’s that have no foaming in them at all, and this one still does have that sensation, so leaves the hair feeling clean. The Moisture Repair Conditioner does what it says on the tin : leaves hair soft, hydrated and restored. It’s not too heavy so it doesn’t leave my hair flat or weighed down. It contains Argan oil, keratin and fatty acids which all help to strengthen and repair, particularly the Keratin.

Onto the super treatment which is the intense Restorative Hair Mask. This bad boy is such an intense and luxurious, buttery treat that is your once-a-week hair salvation. It’s very concentrated and obviously smells delicious (hey it helps!) and is *kind of* your typical hair mask BUT with a slight difference. You apply this on to towel-dried hair (if you can be bothered…sometimes I don’t step out of the shower), then apply the mask all over the hair, I avoid my roots as I am oily /fine, and then leave it on for 5-7 minutes to work it’s magic. This will give it enough time to start penetrating the hair shaft and repairing and doing lots of wonderful things. You then rinse if off and FOLLOW with a conditioner as normal < Yikes, I did not read this until about half way through the tub but what this does is seal the hair shaft back after the mask has done it’s thang. If you are extra dry, you can add a teaspoon of the Moroccanoil Treatment (the actual oil concentrate) in with the hair mask for an extra boost of argan oil goodness.

It took me years to get round to trying Moroccanoil haircare and I’m so late to this party, but I’m glad I’ve finally joined and I can’t wait to try more of the products. I have my beady eyes on the original oil treatment next to add into my mask.
