Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation Review

Too Faced Peach perfect comfort matte foundation

Too Faced some really good foundations, with my favourite probably being the Born This Way which I have had in my stash since it launched a few years ago. I really like all of the products from their peachy range that I have tried over the years but I had never tried the foundation from this range : the Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Match foundation up until a couple of months ago.

I think I wasn’t too interested in it because it is an oil-free and matte finish, which for me, screams that it’s going to be a) full coverage b) powdery and a bit dead-looking. However, a trusted makeup artist pal of mine swears by it, loves it and promised me it’s not a typical matte foundation…..so here we are.

The Peach Perfect foundation is a long wear, transfer-resistant and medium coverage foundation that claims to create a smooth canvas for flawless and comfortable matte wear.

Key selling points include a 14-hour wear, smoothing technology, oil-controlling and it smells like peach and sweet fig milk (?!) which for me is neither here nor there but I know some people may like this. To be fair the whole range has this scent and it’s bearable and not-overpowering. It comes packaged in a squeezey tube with a pump applicator which I like as it keeps the product really fresh, protected from light and it’s a lot more lightweight that the Born This Way glass bottle packaging. It’s pretty.

It comes in 30 shades and they do have an online shade matcher but I would still try and get to a counter to have a proper match. I was lucky enough to be sent this without a match but the shade *is* definitely a little too yellow in the tone for me so I would probably opt for the shade lighter if I was being a fussy bitch and didn’t get it for free anyway 🙂 This shade works for me if I am super tanned so it will be wearable for sure in the summer and holidays which is when I would need a nice, matte foundation finish. Here I am wearing ‘Latte’, I think looking at the shade matcher I would probably be ‘natural beige’.

Coverage-wise, as you can see from the before / during and after’s below, it’s really good : actually heavier than I would have expected from a medium coverage so for me, it’s medium and then a bit. I only need 2 pumps for a full face ‘proper’ coverage but most of the time I just use 1 pump for a sheerer wash of colour. It has a nice, smoothing finish and it doesn’t seem to sink into my fine lines too much.

My Thoughts:

I am not a huge fan of matte foundations, let’s just put it out there. I own very few for myself personally because, even though I *do* have a combination-oily skin, I still love a dewy and glowey-hoey finish. This applied really nicely and it’s easy to blend to get a nice natural finish. I worry that ‘matte’ foundations = powdery and thick but the Peach Perfect actually has a lovely, satin, second-skin finish.

Who knew a matte foundation existed that doesn’t give you a full coverage or a mask-like finish and one that I actually like?!

I still would powder this if you are oily and like a proper matte finish….for sure. I was really happy with how it looked as is, so I didn’t bother with powder. It lasted brilliantly on my skin all through the day, with light touch-ups and powdering a couple of times. I REALLY like this foundation for the finish and also the fact that it looked and felt really fresh. For a longer wear then prep up the skin with the Primed & Peachy Matte Primer and whack on a bit of that Peach Mist Mattifying Spray : not only does this lock your makeup on like a dream, but it is also a lovely cooling facial cream to keep you cool and fresh in the summer (and yes, it smells like peaches obviously!).

This would be great for you if you are coming into summer, and your current foundations either have too much coverage or not enough, and seem to be sliding off your skin in a flash. We’ve all been there. If you are oily-combination this is a great shout for you and if you want it as a more sheer coverage, then just add two dollops of primer with one dollop of this = VOILA a perfect tinted moisturiser that will stay on!
