The Current High Street Makeup Edit.

I can’t seem to walk past a Superdrug or Boots nowadays without diving in to have a fix of the latest beauty launches. I have such a huge bunch of high street favourites that I buy time and time again and some I have used for over 10 years! I think most people will agree that it’s great to have a mix of high end luxury makeup and some budget buys. I often think the quality can be really similar, especially when it comes to colour products and nail polish. There also seems to be a big influx of new brands that are doing great dupes of our pricey favourites and a lot of ‘professional’ type products that cater towards makeup artists’ needs.

[1] Barry M Gelly nail polish. I have SO many of these and they seem better than 80% of my posh polishes. they have a really strong pigment, a great and easy brush to use and they stay on really well! The colours they do are so good, and I pretty much buy a new one every month. [2] Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner. Literally have used this for 10 years + and still going strong. I tend to flip between this eyeliner and the Rimmel Exaggerate and both are equally as good but this Collection one is cheaper. Again, both these eyeliners blow the socks off some of the £££ I have!. [3] Makeup Revolution ‘Obssession’ Palette. You can’t go wrong with a bitta Makeup Rev. The prices are redic and this is a brand that I just find myself buying loads of because they do some great colours and I am a fan of the palettes. My favourite one thus far is this one, PURE CULT from the I love obssession range. Just a really wearable day-to-day palette that I get so much use out of. Costs just £3.99 (!) which is what I would normally pay for a cheap single eyeshadow. [4] Bourjois 1 Seconde Volume mascara. Possibly the best high street mascara I have found. Love the silicone wand, seems to do everything in one and lasts me ages. Always looking to try more so throw me suggestions if you have any… [5] MUA Undress Your Skin. My highlighter of choice and wear this most days. I have both the Pink Shimmer and the Amber compact and they are so good ! This was the exact highlighter I used on my Wedding Day Makeup. [6] Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch concealer. I really love this as an under eye brightener and highlighter….think Touche Eclat but 1/3 of the price. If I want a perfectly flawless unde-reye and the bags are heavy, then I use a heavy-duty concealer first (amazing concealer/laura mercier/Kevyn Aucoin SSE etc) then I will follow with this as a step 2 to bring light and lift to the eye area. [7] Barry M Lipgloss. Another product I have used for many years and I’m really drawn to the bright, gorgeous colours they do.  Love a bit of Bazza![8] Rimmel lipsticks. I like lots of the different lippes they do, including the Kate Moss ones, but I seem to have most from the ‘moisture renew’ range. Favourite shades include 380 Dark Night and 630 Coral Britannia for a pretty perfect nude. [9] Maxfactor Whipped Creme foundation. I do struggle with high street foundations and I tend to spend most of my money on expensive ones, however there are a good few that I still use on the regs including this one from MaxFactor. It has a lovely texture, makes my skin feel comfortable and I get a nice, natural finish with it when I use a buffing brush. Great for my combination skin as it has a semi-matte finish. [10] Maybelline Dream Touch cream blusher. This, I actually got introduced to @ London Fashion Week, working on a show that was sponsored by Maybelline as I had never tried much of their makeup. I just fell in love with this colour more than anything, it looks so pale and boring but is the prettiest petal pink flush of colour. It just brings a bit of life to my skin and I would say this colour is one that would work for most skin tones. Try it to believe!

What are you high street must-haves? Have you used any of these?
