Tatcha Skincare Finally Launches in the UK!

tatcha skincare space nk

Tatcha Skincare has *finally* dropped in the UK and our friends’ Space NK have the exclusive. It’s a great match and I can’t imagine it launching anywhere else here in the UK. We’ve been waiting for Tatcha skincare for AGES, and I am so pleased we finally have access to it, I have heard nothing but incredible things and I am so excited to try the Tatcha ritual and learn more about this immersive skincare brand.

‘Rooted in timeless Japanese wisdom, Tatcha crafts pure yet potent skincare rituals, merging beloved Japanese botanicals with proven clinical ingredients for radiance from skin to soul. Through their cult-favourite line, Tatcha has created a bridge between skincare and wellbeing for next level experience when doing your skincare routine. The brand is a reminder that the skin, brain and body are in constant communication.’

I have only ever tried the Tatcha blotting papers (these actually used to be sold in Space Nk…maybe around 10 years + ago!) and I see these are back too! I was super lucky to be sent a 4-step Tatcha ‘ritual’ that includes The Camellia Cleansing Oil, The Essence, The Silk Cream and The Rice Polish. On to the products and first impressions very shortly but I also have to mention the pop-up which opened this week…

Tatcha Skincare : What you need to know.

It’s SO much more than pots of skincare. After reading up on Tatcha….I’m really interested and impressed by their back story and philosophies and it really focuses on a whole lifestyle , well-being and a multi-sensory approach.

What you hear, touch, taste, smell, and see impacts your state of mind, which is reflected in your skin. That’s why care for your skin must involve care for all of you. Tatcha skincare is now formulated to provide both physical and emotional benefits, such as a calmer spirit or clearer mind. Don’t we all need a bit of that?!

Tatcha ‘Five-sense Rituals’ :

For truly holistic care, Tatcha offer research-backed five-sense rituals that encourage a virtuous cycle of well-being to support healthy-looking skin. This unique multisensory approach was informed by Toryo Ito, a Zen monk from Kyoto whose meditation style is rooted in the five senses.

The five-sense rituals are :

Sound Listening to natural sounds like wind, water, and bird song soothe our nervous system, bring us into dynamic balance, and encourage healing.

Touch Research shows that the Japanese ritual of hand healing, teate, activates very slow nerve fibers that result in positive feelings and reduce stress.

Taste Our taste buds are not only connected to nerve fibers, they are also linked with scent receptors, creating a powerful conduit into our state of being.

Sight Sights of nature put us into a state of “soft fascination,” where our minds are at ease in a restorative, non-taxing focus.

Smell Because our skin cells have scent receptors, our whole body can inhale functional fragrances and prompt a waterfall of neurochemicals that promote healing, and boost mood.

Tatcha Products First Impressions.

I am trying out The Camellia Cleansing Oil, The Essence, The Silk Cream and The Rice Polish which is a really easy 4-step ritual. I have dipped in and to of the products over the last 2 weeks so will bring you a full review soon but my initial impressions are that I LOVE TATCHA SKINCARE! OMG. I am invested, I am listening and I want more! Every single product has been utter luxury, effective and made my skin feel super pampered, nourished and simply glowing. I’m really looking forward to trying more from Tatcha.

The Camellia Cleansing Oil

A lightweight cleansing oil that works to remove sunscreen and even waterproof makeup while drawing oils out of the skin. It is formulated with Japanese camellia oil and is rich in vitamins and omega fatty acids to help nourish the skin while delivering moisture. It also contains Hadesai-3, a proprietary fermented complex of rice, algae and green tea.

Ideal for all skin types, Tatcha The Camellia Cleansing Oil emulsifies completely, so it leaves behind no oily residue. Dermatologist tested, this cleansing oil does not cause irritation or clog pores. It rinses away cleanly to leave the skin feeling soft and supple.

The Essence

This is a skincare treatment that works to leave the complexion looking radiant and healthy. Rich in amino acids, this essence works to support natural cell turnover and supports the skin’s ability to retain moisture. It is a watery, lotion texture and the clever applicator allows for a slow release of the product into your hands so there is minimal waste which I love! It’s very clever.

Formulated with Hadasei-3, a proprietary fermented complex of rice, algae and green tea, this potent essence works to amplify the effects of other skincare products. Akita rice helps to deliver nutrients directly to the skin, while Okinawa algae works to replenish the skin barrier and Uji green tea provides protection against signs of premature ageing.

Dermatologist tested, Tatcha The Essence is non-sensitising and non-irritating. This essence also works to resurface and hydrate the skin to leave it looking smoother. I love to apply this every morning, pre-serum and it seems to really add benefits to my routine that I never knew I needed!

The Silk Cream

This is one of the most incredible textures for a moisturiser and it’s just perfection in a jar. It feels light, silky and fluffy but still packs a punch and will richly hydrate the skin and imparts a youthful-looking radiance to the complexion. It helps to leave the skin looking more supple and provides protection against the yellowing or browning that comes with age.

Formulated with a complete liquid silk protein, this rich, moisturising cream works to form a light, moisture-binding veil over the skin. It also contains Hadesai-3, a proprietary fermented complex of rice, algae and green tea that works to restore a healthy-looking glow, while Akoya pearl extract works to leave skin looking firmer.

Using this, along with the other Tatcha products honestly gives you that really pampered feeling : from when you touch the packaging, open it and actually apply it ; it’s all an absolute JOY!

The Rice Polish

This is a wonderful and gentle polish exfoliator to soften and smooth the skin. It is a water-activated exfoliant that delivers Japanese ingredients in a cloud-like foam. It has also been developed as to not cause any irritation on the skin.

It is formulated with finely ground Japanese rice bran, this product works to gently exfoliate the skin, leaving it feeling softer and smoother. It also contains silk protein to nourish and condition, while papaya enzymes help to remove dead skin cells from the top-most layer to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion.

Developed for combination to dry skin, Tatcha The Rice Polish: Classic contains Hadasei-3, Tatcha’s proprietary fermented blend of green tea, rice and algae that works to restore the skin’s radiance. They also do other versions of the rice polish for other skin types such as a gentle version for the super sensitive.

Tatcha Skincare prices.

This is a luxurious skincare brand, from the formulas, to the feel, the packaging and the results. The prices reflect this! Prices start from £25 for the lip balm and I think the most expensive item at the moment is the Silk Cream which is £115.

Is Tatcha Skincare ever on sale?

I think we’ll definitely see some flash sales at *some point* but not for a while as it’s such a new and exclusive brand. I think we may see some cheeky 15% off’s somewhere down the line as Space NK are always doing flash sales and deals on their brands. I’m sure you will be able to snag some great gift with purchases , as there is always these going on. Do sign up to their e-mails and/or their points card, N.Dulge to be the first to know when they have these offers as they are often pretty mega!
