I always like to update my fragrance edit and Spring is when I start picking up some of my more lighter and fresher scents, along with my trusty favoured rich and musky perfumes.
A bit about me and my fragrance preference ; I really don’t like sweet or fruity fragrances of ANY description, never have & never will. I am all about interesting, unique scents that can be floral if they have a musky base somewhere, but my ultimate kind of scents has to be the ambers, musk, oud…and I have an obsession with orange, orange blossom, orange oil…..just orange.
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. A real signature summer scent. This classic from Tom Ford smells of Tunisian Neroli, Italian Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon, Mandarin, Lavender, Orange Flower & Amber ; simply a delicious and slightly drool-worthy combination. It’s pretty much a fragrance that everyone, men & women both love as it’s so clean and beautiful. For me it’s mainly a daytime scent as I do find this quite light, even for a (very ahem pricey!) eau de parfum.
Diptyque Do Son. A very floral one for me, but there is just something about this pretty & sensual fragrance that has kept me wearing it for over 5 years now. I remember a woman describing it to me when I asked her what scent she was wearing and I just always think of her! That’s kind of what fragrances do ; evoke memories….she was a really cool, bohemian, gorgeous older lady…and she told me it was her Ibiza scent ; SOLD! A really sensual, pretty, warm floral that is quite unusual and not *everyone* has this. Notes include Tuberose, Musk & Pink Peppercorns. Warm, Summer nights glorious-ness.
Prada Amber Eau De Parfum. This is probably my favourite at the moment. Still a warm , intense smell yet not overly so that it’s restricted just for the autum/winter as it still has the lighter feminine notes mixed in. Key scents in it include Amber (natch), Resin, Bergamot, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vanilla & Flower Accords. So, SO good! This is a fragrance I wear wear both day & night and for any/every occasion….hence why I am now onto my SECOND bottle in like 6 months.
Tocca Brigitte. Tocca is a gorgeous range of perfumes, and all of them are really wearable. Brigitte is my current favourite although I also love Stella (their signature scent) & Cleopatra is also lovely. Brigitte is inspired by the beauty of Brigitte Bardot and the glamorous Cote D’Azur, it has key notes of saffron, moroccan rose, sandalwood & musk. This is one of those very girly, almost bridal fragrances that I wouldn’t usually opt for but something about it just works for me. I also love the pretty & girly bottle of the Tocca perfumes, it adorns any boudoir vanity table perfectly.
