This month’s monthly subscription box from Birchbox UK see’s a fantastic collaboration with Coppafeel, which is a UK based charity that soley focuses on creating awareness for both men & women, on how to check for, and hopefully prevent, breast cancer.
In the UK, 1 in 8 women will experience breast cancer in their lifetime and 400 men are diagnosed each year. Knowing your body and how to check is so important in detecting breast cancer : and the earlier you detect it, the better chance of survival. Coppafeel, shows you easy ways to check, what signs to look for, and what to do if you find any abnormal changes. It’s a fabulous charity so already this month’s Birchbox has the thumbs up (& boobs out!) for me, as I think awareness is SO important.
So products : what do we have? 5 products which are all decent sizes (2 full-size) with the first to catch my eye being the Ecotools Color Perfecting Mini Sponges. I had never even seen or heard about these before (an immediate tick) and they appear to be colour-coded sponges to help you even out your skin tone. Ok on first perusal I though these were pre-soaked with product/corrector *inside* so was a little more excited… but these are still a good idea, even if not correcting and just using them with concealer.
Next up is the Anatomicals Boob Tube ‘Grab Your Melons’ shower gel. This is quite a common brand within Birchbox which I am neither here nor there with BUT this is my favourite product I have tried from them : it smells great, it’s a generous 50ml in size AND it reminds you to check your bits in the shower! Next up : A weeny miniature of the new Benefit Porefessional Pearl Primer. Again, we do get Benefit quite a lot in Birchbox but I am not complaining as it’s one of my favourite makeup brands. This 3ml size is enough to give it a couple of go’s to see if it works for you. I am preferring this to the original formula as I love dat glowwwwwww.
Another makeup-ey item is the handy little ModelCo Contour Stick. I do have about 100093 contour shades / formulas but I do like a cream stick and these are what I have least of in my collection AND this shade is a little darker than the others I have which is handy for when I want a bit more carving! Last but not least is the only skincare item in this month’s box and it’s a generous 40ml size of the Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash. I do like Balance Me as a skincare range as it really works for my skin, and it is another brand we see a lot on BB but I absolutely do not mind! This is also perfect for my skintype so I am happy this this, and it’s a good size to give it a try for at least a week.
I think it’s a pretty good box, with lots of products I have never tried before, so I am really looking forward to having a play, especially those Ecotool sponges. I also am loving the Coppafeel sticker, that I feel could be a really good addition to a workplace staffroom / communal area or somewhere @ home for all to see.
