Elemis recently launched 2 new products into it’s already existing Superfood range : the Elemis superfood AHA Glow Cleansing Butter and and the Elemis Superfood Glow Priming moisturiser. When I initially read about these products, they were kind of singing to me as you know I’m all about that glow and I’ve recently started using the Elemis skincare range and have been getting on with the products really well.
I’ve been loving the Elemis Rose cleansing balm which I’ve already chatted about right here so I knew that I would probably get on with a similar kind of formula. The Superfood AHA Glow Cleansing Butter is your typical balm cleanser ; first step to remove all traces of makeup, grime and SPF. It is a oil-based balm, thick buttery type texture that melts into a milk once mixed with water. It feels definitely feels different to their original cleansing balm and the rose version ; these feel ‘oilier’ where the Superfood Glow AHA Cleansing Butter actually feels like a butter. Hard to explain but once you try it you’ll get it!
It contains AHA’s pumpkin enzymes which will gently slough away dead skin cells to reveal a brighter and smoother skin. It’s still very mild so it’s fine to use all over the eye area with no irritation at all. You can also massage it onto the face and leave it on for 10-minutes as a gentle exfoliating mask.
Alongside the pumpkin enzymes, this cleansing butter also contains Acerola Cherry, Mango Butter and Chia Seed Oil. It has no strong scent to it, I was half expecting it to have a zesty scent due to the colour (plus the rose balm is quite potent!) but I can’t really smell anything strong, maybe a very subtle and light scent.
Elemis Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser.
A perfectly lightweight and fluid moisturiser that contains light-reflecting particles to impart that soft radiant sheen to the skin. Can be worn as your lightweight hydrator (oily-combo skins = perfect) or literally as your primer underneath makeup when your skin needs a bit of a perk-up.
The prebiotic formula contains Kombucha and fermented ginger and will not only enliven the skin, but will also brighten and hydrate.
It is silcione-free and doesn’t weigh on the skin or feel heavy. For me, this is an ‘add-on’ product as opposed to one that will replace my moisturiser so I will use in addition to my normal skincare either layering on top or simply popping it on as a primer. I love the radiance it gives and it has a soft champagne hue that will work to give all skin tones a lovely glow and lit-within appearance. This would also be lovely mixed in with your foundation or lightly tapped on over the top to enhance your highlight.
So as you can see from the finish on my hand, it’s a really beautiful finish and I am legit all over this moisturiser! It’s also great, if like me, you do your AM skincare routine quite some time before you get around to slapping on some makeup and this can literally go on as a primer and a re-hydrator ; a perfect skin prep!
