New & Coming soon! 30 shades of Bareminerals BarePRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation

You know I am a HUGE fan of the Barepro Performance Wear powder foundation (check my review and flawless finish here) so I was super excited when the NEW Barepro Performance Wear LIQUID Foundation SPF20 landed on my doorstep for me to try out pre-launch. I have only tried one of the liquid formulas of the Bareminerals foundations which was the Brightening Serum Foundation which was lovely, but more for a dryer skin so I was super excited to try this new one to see if it was more suited to my skin.

The Blurb: So the BarePRO liquid promises a few things (ok a lot) and is described as a long wear, breathable foundation that improves skin texture over time. Oh and it it is so pure that you can sleep in it : Yay to those party gals and boys out there!

The foundation is skincare infused and breathable with a cocktail of ingredients including papaya enzymes to brighten and improve skin texture, Bamboo stem extract which gives a blurring, soft-focus finish, and Iron oxides which enhance the staying power of the foundation. The long wear coverage (up to 24 hours) comes from the mineral lock formula that mimics the natural lipids in your skin which adhere to your complexion like goddamn glue.

Lastly, and the possibly one of the BEST things about this impending foundation launch is that they are straight up launching 30 SHADES *clapping hand emoji*. 80% of brands will launch maybe 10 shades of foundation with 7 shades of beige and 3 very generic darker tones which simply isn’t good enough. They also promise none of the darker tones will go ashy or grey on the skin. High five Bareminerals.

The Claims :

  • Promotes improved skin texture
  • 24 hour wear
  • Breathable but full coverage
  • Blurs pores and imperfections
  • Matte finish
  • Oil-free and fragrance feee
  • Hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic
  • 30 shades
  • Water resistant, sweat resistant and humidity resistant

Alongside this foundation, they are launching the Luxe Performance Brush which has been specifically designed to work in synergy with this liquid foundation. This is different to ANY foundation brush that I have in both the shape and texture. It is cut with a curve and the synthetic fibres are really tightly packed so the brush is a lot harder than most I use as it mimics the fingertips. The only thing I wish was different about it is the size – I would prefer it to be a touch bigger.

My Thoughts:

Aside from all of the above, I want to share with you how I am finding this foundation, after 3 weeks of wearing it. The shade I am wearing is Natural 11 Which is a touch too pale-yellow at the moment but will be a perfect winter shade (high five to the PR gals for matching this from afar!).

LEFT: Bare skin RIGHT: Bareminerals BarePRO Liquid Foundation / nothing else

The texture is is medium-weight liquid, not dissimilar to NARS sheer glow in feel, perhaps a little more lightweight. It feel like a typical liquid foundation when applying it, and I have noticed that it feels almost cooling and fresh upon application. The finish is not matte, not shiny; so around a satin finish. Oily skins would still need to set this with powder.

I am oily-combination :  It wears extremely well on my skin. I have been wearing it a lot and in different combinations – with primer, with powder, without either etc. Without primer OR setting powder I need to freshen it up only maybe twice during the day, so that’s pretty good in itself. With a decent primer and setting powder, I barely needed to touch it all day. Coverage-wise it’s medium-good, not full. It’s easy to build and manipulate and good to layer if you need a little more coverage in areas.

The Performance Wear Liquid Foundation SPF20 is launching exclusively in Debenhams on the 24th August and then everywhere else on the 7th September and will be priced at £29. Available in 30 shades.
