It’s no secret that the Emma Hardie Moringa cleansing balm is actually my no.1 cleansing balm of all time. I absolutely love it, and it’s one beauty products that I will never let run out without another one ready to go. As you can imagine I was excited when I saw that they were launching another cleanser (& something I think has been needed for a long time) : say HIYAAAA to the Emma Hardie Moringa Light Cleansing Gel.
It’s a perfect addition to what I think is a relatively compact and slimline range from Emma Hardie : simplicity is what I love and I think I’m not alone when I say I get a bit overwhelmed when a brand has 5 cleansers, 22 eye creams and 12774 serums. It’s a perfect partner to her cleansing balm : a lighter weight cleanser, something for the AM, a second cleanse, for those who just won’t go near a thick oil-based cleansing balm (these people do exist I met one once) and it’s just an easy no nonsense cleanser. Emma Hardie did used to do a great lightweight foaming cleanser that I used to LOVE and it was discontinued some time ago so I’ve been waiting eagerly for it’s replacement.
‘Refreshes, revitalises and balances the skin’
So let’s get down to the details. The Moringa Light Cleansing Gel is as it sounds, a gel formula cleanser. It’s in a pump dispenser, 100ml bottle (YES travel!), and it’s your quick, easy, once over face cleanser. It does contain oil, and the consistency is that of a thick (colourless) gel and you can feel the oil as you massage it onto the skin. It will do makeup removal due to the oil content but not as heavy duty as the original cleansing balm which is A LOT thicker and oilier in texture. The Moringa Light Cleansing Gel is not dissimilar to the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, the NUDE Omega cleansing Jelly (RIP) and slightly lightly in feel to the Eve Lom Morning Cleanser.
Key ingredients include Moringa, Grapeseed and Sweet Almond oils, Omega 6, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Formulated without parabens, silicones, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, sulphates, animal ingredients or Petrolatum.
This is your AM cleanser, it can be your PM cleanser for light makeup removal, or within a 2-step cleansing routine. It’s easy to use in the shower, you don’t need a cloth although if you are using it to remove light makeup in the PM, it may be a slightly deeper and thorough cleanse with a cloth and warm water. You can use this onto wet or dry skin. It is suitable for all skin types, ages and it is vegan-friendly. If I am (everrrrrr) going away on holiday, I would take this as my all-round-everything-every-step-cleanser.
I think the the MOST vital thing about this cleanser is that it has THAT Emma Hardie signature ‘spa’ smell HOORAY and a high five.
I kind of knew I would like this before I tried it. I had heard about it and it was one skincare item I have really been looking forward to trying….and it didn’t disappoint. The Emma Hardie Moringa Light Cleansing Gel has launched in M&S Beauty and has also just gone online on the Emma Hardie website. Priced £34 for 100ml. I’m glad they haven’t gone to the £40+ mark with it, which I feel a lot of brands are doing now with their cleansers. This is a reasonable price point for the juice and I think it’ll be as popular as expected.
Is this something you are interested in trying? Have you tried her original formula balm?
