The Pestle & Mortar pure hyaluronic serum is my first ever Product of the Month, and deservedly so. I’ve mentioned this serum a few times before on the blog, but I think it needs the stage to itself as it’s coming to an end and it’s really an incredible skin-saving product that ya’ll need to know about. I have been using it for a good few months now and it’s one of *those* products that I’m really eeking out to the end as I will have to re-place it as soon as it goes. Nowadays that isn’t so common for me as I do have quite a big stash of skincare to get through so that alone speaks volumes. I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE.
What is it?
A Hyaluronic serum. To be used AM/PM as needed, under you moisturiser. This intensive and hard-working serum will infuse hydration into the skin, repair, plump and soften.
What makes it work?
Hyaluronic Acid : Holds moisture in the skin therefore plumping and smoothing the appearance of the skin.
Aloe Vera gel : Soothes and heals the skin.
Vitamin E: An antioxidant. Beneficial to prevent the signs of premature ageing. Anti-inflammatory.
Lactic Acid : One of my favourite skincare ingredients. A very gentle alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that brightens, gently exfoliates, reduces breakouts & increases barrier lipids. An absolute super hero of a thing for combination and breakout skins.
Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum is 100% free of
animal derived raw materials and organic solvent remnants, paraben free,
propylene glycol free, fragrance free and not tested on animals.
Who’s it for?
Anyone. Really. Due to the great combination of calming, hydrating & brightening ingredients, dry skin, combination skins, normals skins can benefit from this serum. I am currently combination, a little breakout and dehydrated and this is THE BEST serum I have used for a very long time.
Texture-wise it is super lightweight and with most hyaluronic serums, please don’t expect this to feel rich and heavy/oily in the skin…this is a watery gel texture and will suck into your skin and get to work in a flash and you will get a tightening and smoothing feeling. Your moisturiser is the thing that’s going to keep the top layers of the skin nourished. Great for guys and also a really effective makeup primer due to the smoothing properties. I personally always use this in the daytime and an oil at night but it’s up tpo you how you slip it into your regime.
Bankbreaker?
Absolutely not, no. Well it is £33 which isn’t high street prices but this is a really high-end and top quality product. I fortunately got sent this so didn’t have a clue on the price but was honestly expecting it to be up in the 50’s/60’s + so the price point is really reasonable. I have used serums 4/5 times as expensive with both similar and less impressive results.
