Mother’s Day Beauty Gift Guide.

Mother’s day is upon us imminently so I’ve gathered a few of my favourite beauty pamper products and collated this gift guide. My mum absolutely LOVED Chanel No.5 and this scent reminds me of her so that is a small hommage to her & always a classic fragrance none-the-less. I used to always send my mum a card in the post (we lived a plane journey apart) and usually some kind of pamper treatment, face cream or something Chanel no.5-ey. If you are a little stuck with what to treat your mum to this Sunday, there are some great picks here ranging from £9.50 to £50, and a few great value gift sets also.

First up a few fragrance-based bits. The Diptyque rooms sprays (£36) are a nice alternative to the candles (although not to be sniffed at) and a *touch* more purse-friendly. They smell very strong and leave a lovely lingering scent for hours. Top scents to try are Baies, Roses & Fig. A favourite perfume will always go down a treat too, my mum loved Chanel No.5 (from £22) and depending on my bank balance I would either get her the perfume or if I was a little pound-pinched, I would just get a lotion, shower gel or something else in the line that wasn’t quite as pricey!

Body treats and pampering products will always be well-received as a gift ; I absolutely love the new Elizabeth Arden 8-hr Cream All-over Miracle oil (£29). This has a multitude of skin benefits and you can literally use is ANYWHERE ; hands, face, hair, nails & body. It’s also a brand/product that everyone knows and loves. Another multi-function product, and maybe for the Mum who has everything beauty-wise and loves to try new and niche brands…is the luxurious and gorgeous Shiffa Healing Balm (£55). Shiffa is a beautiful skincare range from Dubai that is uber-luxe and packed with unique and rare oils, they are known for their Rose Bliss Balm (thanks to Kim K!) but this rolls in at a cool £265, so the healing balm is a slightly more do-able gift ; it contains chamomile, lavender & arnica so is ultra-soothing & repairing and great as a PM face mask and for travel. The Sanctuary Ultimate Salt Scrub (£12) is always a really lovely present and I think it looks a lot more pricey than what it is. A gorgeous body polish that contains dead sea salts encapsualted in rich oils of coconut, jojoba and sweet almond so leaves your skin baby soft and nourished at the same time. Another purse-friendly pal is my favourite hand cream probably of ALL time and that is the Lanolips Rose Balm Intense (£9.50) which I usually buy in my local Waitrose. Smells gorgeous, sinks into the skin in a few seconds and soothes chapped, winter hands.

A face oil is a great gift, in particular one that will suit pretty much all skin types, and this organic and relatively inexpensive one from Antipodes is one of the best ; The Divine Face Oil (£19.50).This is nutrient-rich and gives collagen-boosting nourishment to the skin and can be used both day & night, on it’s own or under your moisturiser. If you want a step-up from an oil and into something more active and anti-ageing then the Institut Estherderm Derm Repair serum (£50.75) is an absolute winner for more mature skin. An intense hit of firming & reconstructing ingredients that repair the skin’s supportive tissues, treat sun damage, wrinkles & lacklustre skin.

If you don’t want to wander too far to make your purchases then Boots also have a great selection of gift sets for you to choose from both in-store and online. Not only are they great to look at in the pretty boxes, but you always end up saving some £$ when you get a set. My favourites and some really good money-savers are the Nuxe Best Sellers Gift set (£20) & The L’Oreal Golden Age Mothers Day Gift Set (£19.99).

The Nuxe gift set contains the infamous cult product ‘Huile Prodigieuse’ which is a multi-purpose body oil, the Reve De Miel lip balm & the Reve De Miel Hand cream. This is online only but seriously buy this now…..if not for mum then for you! You pretty much are getting the lip balm AND the hand cream for free and Nuxe are amazing products with 3 of my favourites being right here in this set.

The L’Oreal set is a whopping £20 saving / 50% off and you get 3 face treatments ; 1 x serum and 2 x creams. These are in super pretty rose-gold packaging and is a range targeted specifically towards mature skin with a big emphasis on getting the glow and radiance back in the skin. FYI this has now sold-out online so do check your local store to see if they still have these sets in.

Do you bother with Mother’s day gestures? What will you be treating your mum to on Sunday?!
