This is one of my favourite perfume discoveries this year. The Miller Harris Powdered Veil perfume is honestly…one you need to try. I have nothing like it in my fragrance collection and it’s one of the sexiest scents that I own.
The Miller Harris Powdered Veil is described as a delicate amber with the lightest of orchid petals to create a delicate and sensuous aura.
I discovered this fragrance first around 5 years ago. I remember it vividly and I was in Burford Garden Centre in the heart of the Cotswolds and myself and my friend were having a casual Sunday browse as you do (have you been to garden centre?! It’s AMAZING!) and they have way more than garden furniture and plants here……they have food, toys, clothing, beauty and of course….perfumes and candles. I remember seeing the bottle from the Miller Harris Powdered Veil perfume and immediately it captured my attention because of the pretty baby pink bottle. I’m easily pleased. More often than not you can be disappointed after being lured in by a nice perfume bottle but it was intoxicating and wonderful. Anyway. I didn’t purchase it on that day but and years on…..in 2022….I thought I’m finally gonna!

I purchased the 50ml size as I hadn’t smelt it since all those years ago in Burford and I was worried that maybe my taste had changed and it wouldn’t be as lovely as I remember. I was EVEN better! I was so happy on first sniff and it’s stunning and beautiful.

Miller Harris Powdered Veil Perfume.
So what does this intoxicating scent that I love so much actually smell like?! Well, you may assume from the name that this is powder puffs, fluff and baby-like…you would be very much wrong! It does have a powdery edge to it but this is quite a rich and woody scent, with a touch of femininity and sweetness. It is an amber-floral.
It is still delicate and sensual. I find it a very sexy fragrance. It has a rich sweetness, it’s not over-the-top or overpowering as it has that air of powderiness and transparent florals. I find it perfectly balanced. It is a perfume that I would wear probably more in the evening and special occasions. I would spritz it every day and all day if I’m honest but I don’t want to waste this precious nectar as it isn’t cheap!

I think you will like this if you like something unique , feminine but with depth and not too sweet or fruity. It’s a powerful hit of florals : it’s not soft, fresh or light. The notes that I can really smell once the perfume has developed is amber, vanilla bourbon and cashmeran.
It comes in the signature square Miller Harris glass bottle and is a matte candy pink with gold lettering and lid/ spray. Aesthetically I really love the way the Miller Harris perfumes look. They have a few different designs for the different fragrances, some bottles are completely opaque and coloured like this one, some are see-through with beautiful illustrations on the bottle. This is my first Miller Harris fragrance for about 10 years : I actually have been familiar with this fragrance brand for a long, long time and I used to wear the Miller Harris Feuilles De Tabac maybe back around 2010/11 kind of time. I also purchased a few of their candles in the past which are also absolutely gorgeous. Since buying the Powdered Veil earlier this year it has really piqued my interest back into the brand and I have my eyes on the Scherzo, Eau Santal and the Leather Rouge. There are so many that sound absolutely gorgeous so I defiantly need to find my nearest stockist and go and have a good discovery session of the newer scents.
