This was one of the (quite many) beauty products that I picked up in my Sephora (OMG love!) shopping trips when I was in the U.S.A. My full shopping haul is going to be my first You Tube video so please subscribe eek. The Hourglass Ambient Bronzer is also out here now, but still new & exciting and I am really loving this product. Perfect for the summer and just what my sun kissed skin needs for a bit of an enhanced glow.
It comes in two shades : Luminous Bronze Light and Radiant Bronze Light, and I got massively confused about these when I was looking at them and swatching them as I found it quite hard to tell which was the deeper one as Sephora can be a bit dark inside. I even bought what I thought was the darker one and then had to swap it the next day as someone on my Instagram said it was in fact the lighter one. I can now CONFIRM that the lighter tone, for paler skins is LUMINOUS BRONZE, and the warmer one is RADIANT BRONZE. I think what also confused matters is that they both have ‘Light’ written on the box. Meh. If you know the gorgeous Ambient Lighting Powders that Hourglass do, these bronzers are infused with those to give a gorgeous glow and soft-focus finish.
These have a really nice fine and lightweight texture, which in turn makes them really easy to apply into the skin without overdoing it. I build mine up with a nice soft powder brush (I have actually been using this Hourglass one) but anything large and fluffy is perfect for application. They have ‘Photoluminescent’ technology (yeah I think they made that up) to give the finish depth and dimension. Basically these bronzing powders are gonna make you look sh*t-hot. Bronzing, glowing and perfect skin without the powdery finish. I use mine very lightly ALL OVER my face and then build it up as a normal bronzer on the cheeks to add colour.
Do you need this Bronzer?
If you like glow, radiance and a sunkissed finish without looking like a mirrorball then this is a winner. It’s something that will be in my summer makeup kit all season long. It’s more colour than Laguna, less shimmer than Bobbi brown shimmer bricks and a much more natural & flattering finish than something like Benefit Hoola.
Bank Breaker?
Yep. As with all Hourglass makeup, this doesn’t come cheap. They are £42 here which is way expensive for any bronzer. I purchased mine in Sephora for $50 which works out at about £32 so that’s how I justified it to myself. I think I would have still ended up buying it over here as my summer makeup treat.
