FENTY Beauty Haul & My First Impressions.

On the day of the FENTY launch I got wrapped up in the hype and went online and filled my shopping basket with ALL of the things. Then I panicked. I *hate* online shopping if you didn’t know, and in particular beauty and in particular PARTICULAR makeup that I have never tried before. I changed my mind and carried on with my life for the next 2 weeks. Then I was into central London for an event, I was meeting Helen and we both wanted IN on a bit of FENTY so we decided to do a little diversion to Harvey Nichols to buy some makeup en route to event.

As if you don’t know but in case you don’t : FENTY is Rihanna’s makeup line that launched just a few weeks ago. It has done exceptionally well and there is a lot of focus on the 40 shades of foundation which is unheard of for a new line (& many existing). Inclusivity is key and this is what everyone has been screaming for and considering all the deeper shades sold out first, and people are still Q-ing to get to the stuff, it speaks volumes.

PS did you know that FENTY is Rih Rih’s surname?!

The whole process was relatively painless and a lot better than I was anticipating it to be. There was still a que to get in, but we only waited for around 20 minutes (it was a Tuesday so weekends will be more!). Once through the door we were met by our own sales assistant who led us to the counter to try out products and swatch away. The counters weren’t too busy which was great, so lots of room to move around, and get to all the testers.

I ended up buying the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in shade 280, Matte Stix Trio in Light 100, Killawatt Freestlye Highlight Duo in Ginger Binge/ Moscow Mule & then of course the Killawatt highlighter in Trophy Wife.

The foundation is a really lovely formula, although….way too dark! I was tanned the day I went shopping and I only swatched it really quick before I purchased it so it was totally my mistake. The cream sticks are nice….nothing new to what I have already, but a great little kit of 3 if you haven’t got a basic contouring kit. If you buy the pack of 3 as opposed to individually you neatly get one free.

I absolutely LOVE both highlighters with my favourite being the duo which I’m using both as a glowy blush and on the eyes. Trophy Wife is as good as everyone says and you really do need dis. I have nothing like it in my collection and have never seen anything like it!

If you want to see my full first impressions and try on then do watch my You Tube video below. Herman makes an appearance too at the beginning! I’m looking forward to FENTY bringing out some more lipgloss shades and eyeshadows later this month and can’t see the hype calming anytime before Christmas. WOW.
