Brand Disovery : Ole Henriksen Three Little Wonders.

Ole Henriksen is a brand that I have only a small insight into (the Lemon Strip Flash Peel) with good results and it is a range that is often raved about by beauty insiders and editors. I remember it being everywhere in Sephora’s in the U.S which kind of kick-started my curiosity again for this brand. It can be overwhelming when you are introduced to a new skincare brand, particularly one with a large range, so having a little ‘taster’ set such as the Ole Henriksen Three Little Wonders is a perfect way to try some signature products and see if the brand may work for your skin.

The Three Little Wonders set contains deluxe samples of their infamous Truth Serum (9.76ml) , the Invigorating Night Creme (7g) and the Sheer Transformation daily moisturiser (7g). They are decent sizes to get maybe a week’s worth of Ole Henriksen love to decide if it’s for you, or what products take your fancy.

The Truth Serum is all about brightening, evening skin tone and energising the skin. It is packed full of vitamin C to smooth lines and strengthen collagen, antioxidants to protect, Rosehip repairs and balances and the Grapefruit & Orange extracts brighten and purify. It smells wonderful and aromatic and this for me, is the stand-out product and something I would re-purchase in the future. It is oil-free and lightweight and my skin was lovely and clear after use of the trial-size. For a remarkable difference on pigmentation/scarring, you would have to use it for a lot longer but from the initial use I have high hopes.

The Sheer Transformation moistursier is a lightweight, oil-free cream that is ideal for combination-oily skin types. It’s main purpose is for brightening and discolouration and acne scarring so it’s really hard to tell in a week if it does as it suggests as you need many months of use to gain these results. From just inital use, it seems like a nice lightweight day cream that sits well and works in synergy with the Truth Serum. It still has a good texture to it despite it being oil-free, so will probably still be good for a normal-dry skin if you don’t like a heavy cream or feel.

The Invigorating Night Treatment is a very good brightening and hydrating PM treatment. It is a very sheer gel formula, serum-like, that absorbs into my skin really quickly and lightly hydrates. This contains both glycolic and lactic acids alongside 5 concentrated fruit acids to brighten, improve cell turnover and gently exfoliate the skin as you sleep. This is all about the GLOW and is great for combo skin but if you like something rich & nourishing in the PM then you will be better off with the creme formula.

This set is available from Escentuals priced at £18, which is a saving of around £5.
