Birchbox UK : August Unboxing!

Hellllloooooooooo lovelies. So here is my Birchbox August unboxing and first things first : IT’S A GOOD’UN! Possibly my favourite of the year so far. Keep reading if you wanna see the contents and a quick overview or scroll down to the bottom and click the You Tube video if you want to see my live unboxing reaction!

This month’s Birchbox has hit the nail on the head with the theme and it’s singing to most people: All things MERMAID! There is a scale-themed pull out drawer-box and everything within has a mermaid-sea-beachy link. So what’s inside?..

First up, the absolute showpiece of this month’s Birchbox and the product that we got a teaser of in last month’s box : the full-size Spectrum Brush. I do not own a brush this pretty, and that’s saying a lot considering I have around 500 makeup brushes. I absolutely love the colour-way I got with the aqua and pink – I think there are 2 that you could have received and this is definitely my favourite. It is the A05 brush which is a synthetic, angled contour / blusher brush.

Another full-size product is the LOC One & Done Shadow Stick. There are 2 colours you could receive in the box, a chocolate-y deep brown ‘Rock Steady’ or a pale nude beige ‘ Out of Your Shell’ which is the one that I have got. It seems like a good formula, stays on creaseless and budge proof and I actually quite like the fact it’s quite compact.

There is a nice 10ml size of the infamous NUXE Huile Prodigeuse body oil, which is a product I have used for many years. It is a shimmering body oil that can be used also on the face and hair to nourish hydrate and give glow. A brand that I have never heard of or tried before is Huygens and from them we have a 10ml tube of their Supernature Cream which is good for all skin types. I will save this until I am travelling to give it a try.

There is a generous 30ml bottle of the No.4 sugar Texturising Spray. This is a brand I have definitely seen in Birchbox before. i am quite intrigued by the fact it is a ‘sugar’ spray as opposed to salt which tends to be the norm for texturising sprays. I am yet to try it, again will save it possibly for travel, but am happy with this and it’s a decent size to get a good trial from it.

Birchbox subscriptions costs just £10 a month plus £2.95 postage, so again, I think this is a really good value box and the contents must be at least double this. Check out the Birchbox Website to see different subscription options, plus you can shop the boxes and full-size products.

What do you think of this month’s Birchbox contents? Are you loving the Spectrum makeup brush as much as me?!
