Birchbox Celebrates 5 years of Beauty.

Happy Birthday to my Birchbox babes.

Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box that has been delivering a selection of beauty to our doorsteps for a whole 5 years. It’s the UK’s no.1 beauty subscription box, and in my opinion the best! I love receiving them ; it’s like a little birthday present to open every month, I always discover new brands and beauty products, they are a great price and they work with some really fabulous brands. Not only do they deliver some great boxes, but www.birchbox.co.uk is a full, comprehensive shopping site, stocking over 200 of our favourite brands.

They have just turned 5 and to celebrate they have a very special box this month celebrating one of our favourite British pastimes = the traditional tea party! For this, the cardboard box we usually get has been replaced with a fancy keepsake tin, which comes full of this month’s beauty picks.

Now back to the order of the day…..what’s inside this month’s box.

Makeup-wise we have a mini eyeshadow from Ella Eden which is a mineral formula and you can get one of two colours. I received ‘Julia’ which is a really wearable gold shade. It seems like a nice formula, although I *do* have 4579404 similar shades. From Benefit we have the new POREfessional Pearl Primer which I actually have already bought….and it’s fabulous! It’s a little bit of a small size being just 3ml, so I would have likes to have seen maybe a more generous 10ml instead of a sample size.

For skincare, there is a 20ml tube of the Polaar Sun Fluid SPF30 which is a nice lightweight sunscreen that can used on both the face & body. This is a brand I have discovered in Birchbox and see it come in the boxes from time to time. There is also a 15ml tube of the Glamglow Supercleanse cleanser which I actually already have, and I am a big fan! It’s a charcoal-based cleanser that works from a cream to a foam and works to absorb oil, impurities and detox the skin. More suited to an oily-combo skin type FYI.

There is a generous 30ml bottle of the Number 4 Smoothing balm which is an anti-frizz hair balm. It works to restore softness, reduce frizz, add hydration and protect against heat damage and humidity. As a little extra, there is also a pack of 3 Whittard teabags to get your ultimate tea party brew.

Birchbox costs £10 & £2.95 p&p per month.
