Una Brennan is a skincare range found in Boots and larger Sainsbury’s and it’s really, rather very good. You may or may not know, but after working within the beauty industry for almost 15 years, I am a *bit* of a skincare snob. I tend to stick to my high end and often eye-wateringly pricey cleansers, and it’s very rare I find myself buying budget…except for my Una Brennan faithfuls.
I first starting using the brand around 5/6 years ago and as I’m sat here typing away I am struggling to even think of any other skincare brand you can find in Boots that I would happily use exclusively from cleansing > serum > moisturiser > masks……beside Una Brennan. I particularly like the cleansers and I want to share with you what works for me.
First up and this is my absolute no.1 high street cleanser : the fabulous Neroli Daily Brightening Cleanser. This is now my 4th tube of this cleanser. Admittedly, I did initially get sent this from the PR around 5 years ago : used it and loved it, and have been buying it ever since. It’s a perfect AM cleanser for me / it’s a light foaming gel cleanser, it smells fabulous and if you are only wearing light makeup, it’s also a decent PM face wash too. Neroli is my favourite scent so this also adds a lovely sensory feel when using this product and it kinda makes me (almost) happy in the dark mornings. It also contains hyaluronic acid, mango seed oil, sweet orange peel oil, ylang ylang flower & hibiscus flower.
A more recent addition to my Una Brennan collection was the Vitamin C+Brighten Gentle Daily Micro Polish Wash. Again this is definitely a better AM cleanser as not only is it a gel-based one, it also has small beads that slough off the skin, invigorate the skin and this is perfect first-thing-in-the-morning-perk-me-up. The beads in it are very gentle (biodegradable micro beads FYI) so it is fine for daily use although I still use this 2-3 times a week when I wake up needing a brighten and perk up on my skin. This micro polish is PERFECT for this time of year when dry, flaky skin creeps up to say hello.
