The Cohorted Black Beauty Box | March Edition.

So far, I have been really impressed with the offerings of the beauty box from Cohorted. It seems a bit of a step up in the luxury stakes from others I have tried, and although it is pricier at £35 per box, the brands are really good and the savings are enormous.

This month’s brands include The Balm, Nails Inc, Bareminerals and PIXI and the box is worth £88.50 so a saving of £53 which is not too shabby. Another plus, is that 4/5 were full-size products which is what I love. I am not a huge fan of samples / one use things in beauty boxes as you can’t *really* get a feel for it unless you have a good few uses out of it. I also like the fact that ALL of these products are from brands I know and are familiar with or have at least heard of ; yet all the products in this box I have never actually used.

The star of the show has to be The Balm Nude’Tude Eyeshadow Palette. This is full-sized and looks absolutely gorgeous. I am slightly aghast to say that I am yet to try ANYTHING from this brand although have heard so much about it. The packaging is quite kitsch and Benefit-like with a touch of fun and tongue-in-cheek. It has a small double-ended brush within the palette and a nice big mirror so you can get those eyes looking gorgeous with ease. There are 12 shades of pressed eyeshadow, with a mix of matte, sheen and metallic finishes and the shades are super wearable. I absolutely love these nude shades with a few deeper and warmer tones so you can create multiple looks with this from daytime to super smokes for the evening.

Also from The Balm is a weeny sample sixe of their Put A Lid On It eyelid primer. This makes sense to include it within the same box as it goes perfectly with the eyeshadow palette, although I think they should have maybe added another brand within this, even something small and travel-sized, as this primer kinda goes *as one* with the palette for me….not an extra thing. If that makes sense.

There is a Bareminerals Heavenly Face Brush which is a  flat top powder brush, great for applying any kind of powder….foundation, bronzer, setting powders and I even like it for applying a loose mineral foundation as it packs it on really well. I haven’t used Bareminerals brushes before so am interested to see how this fares. It’s also nice to mix it up and receive a makeup brush / accessory within the box.

More eye makeup comes in the jumbo pencil form of PIXI Crayon Combo ‘Supernatural’. This is a double-ended eyeliner and shadow combo which is a really wearkable deep chocolate brown and beige shimmer colour that would work for pretty much everyone. This will be great for handbag / quick makeup and travel.

To finish up there is a Nails Inc polish in shade ‘Cadogan Square‘ which is a muted nude brown tone that will give you a perfect polished and clean finish. I haven’t used Nails Inc for a very long time and this colour is slightly warmer than most of the nudes I have so it will definately get a wear.

The Cohorted Beauty Box costs £35 a month (including free P&P) and you can find out more and register here.
