Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser Review.
We need to chat about the Rare Beauty Positive Light tinted moisturiser! A flexible tinted moisturizer that goes on easy to instantly blur skin with glowy, light to medium coverage that stays put— all while hydrating and protecting skin from the sun.
Think no-makeup makeup in a bottle. Easy to throw on with just your fingers, this super comfortable, breathable tinted formula blends like moisturiser into a smooth, hydrated, naturally radiant finish. I love a tinted moisturiser, I seem to be reaching for them more and more as I get older : I’m less interested in a perfect opaque coverage, I would much rather have a bit of ‘skin’ showing through and it feel more comfortable on my skin
About Rare Beauty.
Rare Beauty was founded by Selena Gomez in 2020. Rare Beauty is breaking down unrealistic standards of perfection.
This has been created as a makeup range to feel good in, without hiding what makes you unique. Rare Beauty is not about being someone else, but being who you are, self-acceptance and being comfortable in your gorgeous skin! There is a BIG focus at Rare Beauty to support mental health and well-being and have created the Rare Impact Fund which is their commitment to give people access to the resources they need to support their mental health. Rare Beauty donates 1% of all sales to the Rare Impact Fund and raises additional funds with philanthropic foundations, corporate partners, and individuals in our community to increase access to mental health services in educational settings.
It is inclusive across age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, cultural background, physical or mental ability, and perspective. They want their beauty brand to be safe, welcoming and inclusive. When I went online to find more about behind-the-brand and behind the celebrity face, I was so pleased to substance and simply more than a glossy makeup brand with some glossy packaging. I think…in a nutshell..this is a very 2022 makeup brand and it seems to be ticking all the boxes we have been wanting.
From the Rare Beauty website:
‘We believe in the beauty of imperfections.
We nurture a caring, respectful community.
We create meaningful connections and relationships.
We champion authenticity and positivity.
We lead with transparency to build trust.
We believe there is power in being vulnerable.
Rare Beauty is available exclusively from Space Nk in the UK.
Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser Review.
Ok so let’s chat all things Rare tinted Moisturiser. What it says on the tin : this is a weightless coverage, long-lasting, with built-in broad spectrum SPF20, that will blur the skin, even out the skin tone and reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines.
The Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser comes in 24 flexible shades to fit a range of skin tones.
I have 2 of the shades that were kindly sent to me : swatches of both of these shades are below. I have a warmer summer tone which is 34W (warm) so this is a lovely golden tan tone. I am currently wearing shade 24N (neutral) which is my perfect paler winter shade and this is the one I have on in the below before and afters. It’s bang on my skin tone. for reference in other foundations I wear : MAC NW30-35, Laura Mercier Bisque, Trinny Binky, IT CC Medium and NARS Sante Fe.
I find this tinted moisturiser as well as all my other faves, can be applied perfectly with fingertips or a brush, it’s just personal preference. I LOVE the Rare Beauty liquid touch foundation brush btw, their brushes are absolutely beautiful!
Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser Before + Afters:
So this is how is looks on me and the coverage it gives. As you can see, it is very natural looking (and feeling !) and it still manages to give a nice amount of coverage. It reduces redness and evens out the skin tone and for me, it is the perfect day time , natural-looking base. I rarely like my foundations with a full coverage but uf I wanted to get a little more coverage from the Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser, I would simply add a bit more strategic concealer placement in areas that need it.
It lasts well on me, with just a few powder touch-ups through the day but honestly very minimal needed. I have combination – oily skin. It feels skincare-infused and nourishing on the skin. It doesn’t just *sit* on your face, it really is like second-skin and it feels lovely on – and it’s weightless. It’s an incredible tinted moisturiser / lightweight base. Up there with the best that I’ve tried and I reach for this very often!
I would 100% recommend that Rare Beauty Positive Light Tinted moisturiser : definitely one to try if you like brands such as Laura Mercier, Hourglass, Trinny, Chantecaille, Rose Inc and Charlotte Tilbury. I think it’s sits amongst these brands : good quality makeup, skincare-infused and easy to use and navigate!
Rare beauty is sold exclusively at space NK in the UK and you can shop for the range HERE. Other products that are high up on my favourites list from Rare Beauty / The Rare Beauty must-haves are the Soft Pinch Liquid Blushers, the Stay Vulnerable Melting Blushers, the Primer, the gorgeous brushes (the Foundation brush + Concealer brush are my favourites), the Positive Light Liquid Luminizer, and the stunning Lip Souffle Matte Creams which are quite honestly the best matte/ longwear lip formulas I have used.
Rare Beauty is not here to play! Their formulas are all top-notch and honestly pretty much everything I have tried has been notable and stand-out. The range is criulrty-free and vegan and created using luxury and high performance formulas…plus this is a beauty brand with an honest motivation to make a positive impact.
