This cleanser has been doing the rounds in the skincare community of late so I wanted to chat about it and share my thoughts! The Green Clean Make Up Meltaway Cleansing Balm from FARMACY, a New York-based brand that combines innovative science with clean, locally grown ingredients to deliver farm-to-face skincare with effective results.
This isn’t a new product, although it kind of feels that way as it’s only just come into my (and many others’) radar. I think that’s because it is relatively new to the UK market and it’s recently been re-branded and the packaging updated a little…to make it more sustainable. This is a big part of Farmacy as I will chat about below…
ABOUT FARMACY.

Farmacy do no use parabens, sulfates, SLS and SLES, phthalates, mineral oils, formaldehyde.
So let’s get stuck into the green cleansing balm!
REVIEW OF THE FARMACY GREEN CLEAN CLEANSER.
This gorgeous green balm-to-oil formula uses Papaya Extract and it feels lovely and soothing when you massage it onto the face, and it will work to gently exfoliate and refine the skin. No stripping or drying. Sunflower and Ginger Root Oils effectively dissolve stubborn makeup, impurities and SPF, whilst an invigorating blend of Lime, Bergamot and Orange Essential Oils leave skin feeling clean and fresh…and of course smelling LOVELY! Echinacea GreenEnvy™ (the brand’s patented and exclusive plant) promotes a smooth, even tone and texture.
I love this cleanser! It’s really, really very good. It’s jumped into my top 3 cleansing balms. I love pretty much everything about it. Simple packaging, does what it says on the tin, it has a lovely fresh scent, it removes waterproof makeup, to feels nice on the skin and it’s a great price. What’s there not to love?!
I would say it’s a nice, refreshing balm cleanser : it doesn’t smell as spa-like and aromatic as some but I think a lot of people will like it – it’s inoffensive, unisex and pleasant. Not overpowering, just a light hint of bergamot and orange.
HOW TO USE:
Scoop a grape-sized amount with the included spatula, and apply to dry skin. Use your fingertips to massage into skin with gentle upward and outward circular motions, focusing on areas with more makeup. The solid balm melts into an oil on contact with skin, then a milky lather when water is applied. Splash with water or wipe off with a warm, damp washcloth.
I tend to use a flannel most of the time unless I’m wearing minimal makeup / no eye makeup. I also use this as my first cleanse and will sometimes use a second, lighter cleanser depending on how I’m feeling and how my skin is feeling. You don’t need to use anything after!
£32 for 100ml which is a really competitive price for a cleanser of this standard. It comes with a small plastic applicator to help you scoop it out – no cloth. You can shop it HERE on Cult Beauty.
I think if you are a bit of a skincare junkie and are always on that lookout for that next holy grail cleanser, this is one to add onto your next-purchase list.
