There are SO many new launches out there at the moment with it transiting into Spring/Summer and this last week I’ve had a some gorgeous makeup sent to me, and things I have purchased that I am giving the once-over. Spring makeup seems a little bit more lighter, dewy, fresher and pink and here is some of my key picks from what’s sitting pon’ my desk.
Marc Jacobs Beauty launched a few months ago in Harrods and I am currently trialling the #InstaMarc contouring palette and some of the new lipstick shades. The contouring palette is a breath of fresh air with both the tones being matte, which I think is preferable if you want very natural sculpting & shaping. They do three tones (hooray!) and I am using the medium tone ‘Mirage’ which has a yellow-tone highlight, which gives the most subtle lift and light to the skin. The contour shade is matte and a really natural-looking tone and I am really looking forward to giving this a proper whirl & showing you how it looks on.The lipsticks (Le Marc Lip Creme if we are being formal) are really beautiful and I am particularly liking the ‘Clara’ shade, a gorgeous fresh hot pink. The packaging is very luxe, heavy and feels designer, as expected.
My budget makeup favourite, KIKO have just launched their Trend Collection and the packaging is going to be a big hit with consumers as it was with me ; Gold, pinterest-perfect & little bit glorious! I am really loving the Heatwave lip oil (a great Clarins Dupe) and the Desert Moon Highlighter is just beautiful, a trio of three coloured baked pearls in a giant pot ; not too far off BECCA’s Opal Y’all.
Too Faced have a few new launches and the Candlelight highlighting powders are absolutely beautiful.They are really soft pressed powders and give a really good kick of glow for serious strobing enthusiasts. It comes in two shades and I have the Rosy Glow which is pink-toned and really iridescent, Too Faced is one of my favourite brands at the moment and they never seem to disappoint me with the quality of product and gorgeous packaging.
I did a wee order from Cult Beauty (haul coming soon) and a couple of new makeup bits I got was the Surratt custom palette with a contour, highlighter and blusher in it & some HUDA beauty lashes. Neither of these are ‘new’ launches or products but completely new to me and I am expecting big things from both of them. The textures of the Surratt powders feel like NOTHING I have ever used…..so SO soft and silky and I will be showing this off more very soon, with full swatches and on my skin. The HUDA lashes are really hyped up, particularly on Instagram and I have been wanting to try these for so long I just caved in…I purchased 2 styles ; the Samantha #7 and Giselle #1. Am yet to try them but they look stunning and I just know they are gonna be absolutely smoking on.
